Ford Fiesta mk7 Bumper/Spoler/Sideskirt Theft..

Featured Replies

Hey all..

Was out at Nando's with the work friends tonight, was only in there for an hour having food with everyone. Parked rear-to-rear with one of the girls underneath a carpark lighting post that was fully illuminated.

After having food and heading for the cars, the girl who owned the fiesta stops an starts saying 'Oh my god.. oh my god..'

Walked towards her car to find that her ENTIRE rear bumper, boot spoiler and sideskirts had been stolen off the car within the hour that we were eating. The bumper and sideskirts were removed with no broken clips, brackets or fixings. Even the foglight in the bumper was left hanging uncut with the bulb in the holder.

Same for the spoiler, washer jet and high-level brake light cables removed and fully intact with no spoiler. The front was untouched, as was my Polo parked behind with about 2-3foot gap between the rear bumpers.

Checked on the available cctv but no camera's were facing the direction of the cars and the ones that were were obscured completely. Needless to say she was gutted and upset.

Clearly the people who took the parts knew what they were doing as to not damage or mark anything whilst removing. I mean.. They removed the spoiler and bumper without even opening the bootlid, which is the part i dont understand as there are fixings on the inside of the boot shut.

After speaking to the ford guys and girls it seems that these Zetec S' are easy targets for these types of theft and are popular ones too.. Clip on clip off parts.

Anything like this happened elsewhere?

That's a bit rude..

That's a bit rude..

Nice understatement there  'Well gee, that's a mild annoyance.' Seriously though, what kind of design is that if people can remove stuff without even opening the car?

Defo not what you need just before Christmas, gutted

Hmmm, I bought a mk7 fiesta zetec s 5 months ago, this now worries me slightly! Looks like they took the white boot plinth below the rear badge too.

Hope your friend gets it sorted without to much hassle!

I agree, she loves her car and has worked finger to the bone to get it.. Then some idiot does this.

Didn't notice that.. thought they were like that anyway, I'll let her know about that too.

Had a quote from a friend who works for ford so he able to get a 30% discount.. Looking in the region of £1300.

As far as I'm aware she is going to try get second hand parts.

I'd be on every forum watching who's suddenly got their style or studio to a ZS setup,

Absolute wankers, some people wanna get jobs and actually buy stuff

Get it up on Facebook guarantee someone knows something

I've already got onto my mate who runs Welsh Ford and a few of the boys who are on ZSOC to keep an eye and ear out.. I'm keeping an eye on ebay, gumtree, facebook etc myself too. Never know what may appear..

bastards......

I f***ing hate it when people do these kinds of things and it makes me angry that they feel entitled to be able to take other peoples stuff of their cars. I really hope she finds out who did it and that they get what's coming to them. Be sure to post up anywhere you can think of about this and keep a watch on forum sale pages, eBay, Gumtree and other sale sites. I hope something gets sorted for your friend (:

Used to be a common thing on the Fiesta ST forums

wouldn't the insurance cover this, i know she will lose her no claims but the extra premium wouldn't be anywhere near £1300.

the people who did this must drive around equipped for this or know where the car will be and for how long.

did the cctv pick up any vans or big estate cars entering and exiting the car park as bumpers and side skirts are very bulky items and wouldn't be easily transported in a small car, especially as i doubt it would be only one person who did this.

hopefully you get the bumpers etc back as these bastards don't deserve to get away with this.

Yeah the titanium models come with a chrome boot plinth, no doubt they fancied a body coloured one.

Is the front splitter still there? There riveted/glued to the front bumper so that's not easy to steal.

Surprised they took the whole rear bumper though, only difference between the Zetec S and the lower models is the rear spats and diffuser.

£1300 does seem a tad excessive though, pretty sure you can pick them up cheaper.

Spoke to her about the boot plinth.. Hers is actually a Titanium model wit ha full Zetec S Kit on it.

Front was completely untouched as was in the road view.

She has found a rear bumper and spoiler for £190 and then needs to paint the bumper so s'all being sorted.. Seems to be difficult findind skirtstho

Sadly stuff like this is increasingly common (though i've never seen anything as bad as that). Not on the same level, but my dad had one of his plastic tail light blenders stolen from his T25 van (very hard to get, and we haven't been able to replace it yet). This was in broad daylight, in morrisons car park! They had to unscrew the tailight to get to it, and they even put the tailight back after and screwed it back in! Looked on the club 80/90 forums and parts theft from the vans is common, paticularly the square lamp grilles. The sickening thing about it is, you have to know the scene to know this stuff is worth money :x .
