VW Oil squirters

Featured Replies

Moved.

So these only kick in at higher RPM's, as said they work at 35psi so only scavenge pressure when the engine has enough to keep everything else lubed.

what pressure does the relief valve normally open at?

I wonder if there is any noticeable pressure drop when they do kick in.

Gona ring my local VW dealer tomorrow see if I can get some details costs etc.

pm me you mobile if interested Pete If cheap enough I could get you a set too.??

1W is 1.4. An overbore and oversized pistons (same as used in the 1341 G40s i believe) bring it up to 1.5

i thought they were a 1.4 standard didnt think i was wrong before

and you have a pm Mk2 olop hopefully it will be good news I'm sure the part numbers are on the page before this for the avy ones and the 1w ones

The AVy part number is on the page before and i have pm'd Nige asking if he can find out the 1W part number

the 1W oil squirters you cant buy anymore (correct me if I'm wrong)

the 1W is a diesel block at 1398cc as it uses a bigger crank- a G40 crank can be fitted along with standard G40 pistons for a 1272cc G40 with oil squirters. the block differs from the G40 by the charger mounting holes and the lack of knock sensor stub. can use the lower lower stub with a longer knock sensor from an older audi engine (cant remember which)

cylinder head also has to be drilled out as the 1w uses larger diameter head bolts.

So its entirely possible to use it for a G40

1341cc is gained from an overbore to 77mm pistons with a G40 crank

1398cc is gained from custom 75mm lower deck height pistons with the 1W crank

1473cc is gained from an overbore to 77mm lower deck height pistons with the 1W crank (one in classifieds)

the last option is rocking horse shit as accralite and wossner wont make the pistons unless in a batch of 5 sets - so if you do get a 1W block you also need 4 mates who want to do the same thing.

Before people mension the fact you can use a 1W crank with the G40 block- it isnt as easy as that as it doesnt quite fit- and i know id never shave bolt heads or machine my block out close to water channels as the risk is to great.
