Seat belt slow to retract

Featured Replies

On my Ibiza (same setup as a 6n/6n2 etc) The drivers seat belt is very slow to retract, the belt retracts normally if you try it between the sidetrim exit and the upper mounting, it seems to be the upper mount that causes the problem, I've tried furniture polish on the plastic cover but no different! any other ideas??

Some people Hoover them..? Lol

I had same problem with my drivers one, had to help it in most the time or I'd trap it in the door.

Pull it all the way out, spray the furniture polish on the belt itself both sides all the way (don't be afraid to whack a fairly thick load on) work it in and out a few times add more polish if needed but that's what sorted mine

Good tip, I have the same problem and was thinking of taking the panel off to get a better look, but will also try this before.

Thanks

I hoover mine then use a interior shine such as flash dash ;)

Is it not heavy greasy on your hands then?

Pull it all the way out and give it at least a hoovering, preferably a wash, but might not be a good idea as getting it dry at this time of year isn't always easy.

I used the furniture spray this morning and it retracts great now, only downside is I've now got a stripe accross my T shirt

Haha, does it not feel horrible on your hands then you get it all over steering wheel and that?

Once it's retracting well then I suggest wiping as muh off as you can with cloth then hair dryer that shiz
