Cheers guys, got a quote to roll the rear arches at a VW restoration place pretty local to me which isn't too bad. So hopefully that'll be some time soon then I can put the back down again and cut a coil out the front

Wheels have been sold now :( cooked the head on Sunday so I've have to sell up for funding !

I was driving down the motor way and my car was loosing power and wet down to about 10 miles an hour from 75ish! Then as I just pulled into a lay by it cut out and steam poured out the bonnet...

Popped the hood to see the whole engine bay was covered in coolant and a hose that was split in half under the dizzy!

Bodged the hose back on as it had only an inch or so from where it goes on. Filled with coolant and started to it to find it was turning over really slowly and struggling, when it finally started it sounded like it was running on 2 cylinders .... :(

Luckily my girlfriend is covered with the RAC so got it picked up and taken away.

Guessing I've warped the head but has this happened to anyone else ? Don't want to take the head of and have it skied to find it still be fucked......

heads not warped! thank fuck, took the head off saturday as the weather was so nice so i didnt mind doing it. also cleaned out the breather pipe and the bit where the breather pipe attaches to the block as it was full of loads of shite.

luckily my brothers at uni and has let me get insured on his mk2 golf 1.8 gti temporarily ! which is very fun, so i dont need to rush anything and want to clean the bay up a bit as well
