1984 B registration VW Polo Breadvan for sale

Genuine 48,000 miles from new

Only 4 owners in 28 years and all from the same family bar one the first owner from new

I purchased this from Stockport where it was originally sold new from by Smith Knight Fay the large VW Dealer

It has been my work car for the last year and it is completely reliable and has never failed to start it runs excellently and had a full service including oil, oil filter, spark plugs, air filter, new rocker cover gasket (as it was dripping oil slightly when i got it), new fuel filter. new distributor cap and rotor arm and a brand new battery only two months ago. it also comes with four good tyres and a haynes workshop manual. The car is the cleanest breadvan i have seen in a while and would make a brilliant run around.

The gentleman i purchased this from had to give up driving due to old age and the car had been sat in his dry garage for a long time i literally put air in the tyres serviced it and took it for an M.O.T that it passed first time. The mechanic commented how clean it was underneath itis completely free of any major rust anywhere. the bottom looks like it has been undersealed from new. the elderly gentleman had been leaning against the drivers seat as he struggled to get in and out and had worn the bolster away on one side so i replaced it with a mk3 drivers seat that has more adjustment settings but it is a different cloth however this has never botherd me as i use black seat covers so you cannot see it anyway.

You wont find a cleaner one than this when it has been waxed it really does sparkle. The car comes with some history including a bill for work on 04/12/2007 at 32,348 miles for the following work:

1 x Head Skim

1 x Pressure Test

1 x New Head Gasket

1 X New Head Bolt Set

1 x New Camshaft Timing Belt

to strip head off vehicle for skim and pressure test diagnose leak in head gasket and rebuild using new parts and sealants

machine to re-lap valves and renew all valve stem oil seals due to movement in valves during stripping

Total cost £425.07

The cambelt has been changed and the head completely rebuilt so the new owner wont have to worry about this as it was only done some 15,000 miles ago.

The radiator system has also been completely flushed and refilled using anti freeze.

The car does have some marks as it is 28 years old the worst bieng a small indentation where the previous elderly owner ran the nose across his drive gate. it is very minor and would be an easy repair see pic also it has the odd spot of rust that is very minor near the drivers door area see pics it has been treated with rust killer just needs painting up.

Note the car is completely bog standard as it left the factory apart from the wheel trims i have not altered anything i wanted to maintain it in its original as found in his garage condition it really is a little time warp car and even has the old car smell inside it like my dads cars used to have. I did keep the plastic VW wheel centre caps when i took them off to put the trims on and i think they are still in the boot. I also replaced the rear boot lid gas strut with a brand new item as the original had lost its gas while bieng stored in his garage and the lid wouldnt stay up but it does now perfectly.

Exhaust system all looks good and passed the M.O.T first time it really is a very economical little car, the only reason I'm selling it is i can now cycle to work as i now only work ten minutes from my home. I'm very tempted to keep i and just park it in a lock up as its only ever going to go up in value. The gentleman i purchased this from was asking £1000.00 for it but i made a cheeky offer of £650.00 for it which he accepted. I have run it around for about a year and it has been a great little car i have spent probably a few hundred pounds on it to make it roadworthy as it had no mot when i bought it. it has tax until the end of January next year and M.O.T until January 27th 2013 (id be happy to re M.O.T it at the buyers cost if necessary as I'm very happy it will pass first time its in good condition. the car owes me around £900 but I'm happy to let it go for what i paid originally £650. but please no tyre kickers when you get here or ill keep it myself at this price.

I must add this car can be driven on classic car insurance I'm paying £200.00 a year fully comprehensive it is in the cheapest tax band and is stupidly cheap on petrol bieng such a small 1043cc engine and the parts to maintain it cost buttons.

Any question? feel free to email me

I'm on the Wirral the car can be driven away as it runs great also forgot to mention it has its original owners manual with it from VW and both sets of its original keys with the VW key tags and numbers so replacements can be ordered
