1.3 avv 54.000 miles plans are bike carbs and gt cam just more grunt

might be better just saving up and getting a gt engine..

What do you want from a race crank and pistons?

Wht would be the point of saving for a gt engine the only thing diffrent is the fuel management

And camshaft please correct me if iam wrong

and ignition, and higher compression ratio.

i wouldnt either tho. id get an ABD bottom end.

I'd just get an AFH or an AEE

and ignition, and higher compression ratio.

so get your facts right. better putting a gt or g40 in than pissing cash away on a "race crank" and pistons

whoa chill out man?? lol

You could get a 1W crank and pistons and go for mad high compression ratio. But one of those is several hundreds alone, then pistons on top etc.

It really does depend on what you want/want to do. If it's a project, then there's lots of parts you can mix and match to get various performance gains. If you can find the parts, there are also VW motorsport items you can use. If you just want more power, then an engine swap is the only economical choice. Also, these are well covered and have been done by plenty of people on here. Building a 'tuned' 1.3 is a less well trodden path and you'll likely be doing plenty of your own R&D.

Consider insurance too, as even for me driving for 10 years with 4 years NCB, I'm forking out £450 for third party and 3000 mile limited. Thats on a classic with AEA (1.6) and other mods.

o right couldnt really find much in faq on the best engine build using 1.3 so not really point less or the carb inlet

best engine build on a 1.3 is just get hold of g40 engine and running gear

your be able to get 150bhp out of that engine
