the brown cables are earth cables that were attached to the inlet manifold

i would just attach them to the engine or chassis

the carbon canaster get rid along with the eletric valve vacume pipeing

just vent the pipe thst comes from the feul tank into the air inlet just rember its feul tank breather so will be feul vapor comeing out of it so no smokeing lighters

ok cool, just the answer I'm looking for. one question though, is the carbon canister there to catch the petrol fumes though ?

yes the carbon canister filters out petrol fumes vapor yes

could always put a lighter at the end of the pipe to test

get the jump pack or leads on it ..

Do a vid so were all sure whats going on lol

Thing is , I know my car has bin sat there a while , but I disconnected the negative like two weeks in after realising it was going to take longer . Must have done it too late. All the lights ect work , just guess there's not a lot of juice left. Well every thing is done now , battery will be on change soon . I have even put new battery terminals on , an sorted out my rear washer conversion , so that works now , gaz messaged me ,gotta love gaz aha

ho ho ho lol, cars all washed ready for tomorrow, checked over every thing:

bike pump secured behind fire panel, inlet marking on it i have put the fuel feed hose from under the car too / other outlet to the carbs

bike pump + wire to coil + / - wire to fuel cut off inertia switch then earthed to fire panel

lighting loom wiring (brown connector) / black and red wire to coil - for rev counter / black 12v feed to coil +

mk2 loom / long black wire to battery - / coil green wire to coil - / coil black wire to coil +

pedal has a hole drilled through / accelerator cable attached through it with a solder less nipple / put the cable through the origional hole near the battery tray, i have used a mounting bolt there and on the cradle on the carbs for the sleeved cables support

choke cable attached to dash on the right side of the steering wheel under light switches / attached with a solder less nipple / drilled a hole in the foot well wall leading into the engine bay above the track rods bracket directly behind the engine

brake servo pipe jubilee clipped onto the inlet manifold

ignition leads set 1 - 4 - 3 - 2 anti clock wise / 1 at 10 oclock, i put engine to tdc and that is were the rotary arm pointed although on club gti forum it says to have 1 at seven oclock - will see tomorrow iff there is problems

ignition module behind fire panel / ecu removed / lamba sensor connectors removed

battery on charge over night for the morning

cheers for all your help so far lads, i will obviously post back on here tomorrow telling you all how it went ect ect, also some photos and there will be many photos on my build thread. lets hope there isnt no issues or i will be bothering you all some more haha

well I'm back from bogg brothers, £70 low loader trip, £80 rolling road session with good old dave bogg.

every thing was set up correctly, just needed fine tuning ect, only extra thing he did was add a spring to the throttle wheel to give it more of a pull back.

car was 100 at the wheels !! frickin frightening when i took it out. unbelievably quick in 2nd 3rd ect.

only issue i have is the thermostat housing / thermostat and cover, it was leaking again !! its all new !! what the hell do i have to do ??

also here is a pic of my custom manifold fitted

Think I fixed my thermostat housing , biut I'm finding it hard to bleed up the rad , Heater matrix , bugger since I removed the expansion tank , any tips ? I put in longer bolts , added washers and a nut on the other end off them for the thermostat housing

Jack the front of car up and leave the cap off with car it running ... Not too much just so its highest point

theres a screw on the top of the heater matrix to bleed it mate

You could use the small outlet on the top of the thermostat housing to also bleed the system.

What's your engine spec for 100 at the wheels?

Just have heard things about their rollers accuracy!
