I just got some original allycats that apparently came off an old bmw. I test fitted them today and the centre bore is a lot bigger than a tight fit on my hub (according to google bmw centre bore is .1 mm smaller) the inner lip of the bore Is also heavily chamfered. Do i just need a spigot ring or are these wheels lug centric?

Edit: they are 13x6 if that makes any difference and they don't have the usual volcano part in the middle which also makes me wonder

bmw centrebore is 57.0 so your right there ypu need to get some spigot rings for the centre bore

So if BMW is 57.0 and vw is 57.1 then these shouldn't fit. However, the centre bore is a good 4-5mm larger than my hub... Hence why I'm wondering if they are lug centric

Popular on minis for decades, but mini PCD is 101.6mm so the bolts go in but are slightly pissed - certainly enough for you to be able to tell. If they're definately 4x100, i dunno..

yes, the centre bore of the wheels is a good few mm bigger than the 57.1mm hub. it would wobble around but it doesn't stay on there because of the chamfer.

i was hoping it would be tight and i could deflower them but unfortunately its like a hotdog down a hallway.

right now weve got that far if the centrebore of the wheel is to big then get it measured and get a set of spigot rings to fit vw 57.1 centrebore

ahhh yeah too big. al makes sense now.

you dont need spigot rings, aslong as you put the wheel on and nip each bolt up a bit at a time before fully tightening to centre the wheel, theyl be fine.

spigots are only to help hold the wheel in the centre while you do the bolts up

put some pics up of the wheels. if they have tapered wheel bolt holes, then spigots arent essential providing they are deffo 4x100 pcd

Apologies for the instagram shot, the original was too big to upload here. You can see that they don't have the volcano type centre part. The lug holes are tapered and definitely 4x100 but I will probably make some spigot rings for piece of mind. Thanks for the help everyone :)
