Out of curiousity just wondered which type and years cars people have had on classic.

A family member has had a E plate 944 on classic.

Yet I was looking at my mk2 polo on E also and doesn't seem to be on a classic policy?

Has anyone had a mk2 polo on a classic or which cars have you :)

The polo will not be my main car so don't want to pay main car insurance for the less time I will use it :(

Had mk2 Golf's on classic and my bro's 1989 Corrado.

My Corrado vr6 gets no love due to all the mods. Same for the Mk2 Polo.

Seems to depend on the owners age as well.

Lancaster are generally pretty good with mk2 polo's on classic policies. They quoted me £150 fully comp for my saloon :)

Damn! My uncle will be a main driver on it who's well over 50, I'm 21 so think that limits it, with a shall we say not clean license :( but they all seem to be coming up still 1500. We're going halts so not all bad, but was expecting around 700.

When checked with adrian flux they couldn't do a classic policy :(

Generally speaking, classic policies are available if you are aged 30 or over (some 25's), it is a second car, limited mileage, no commuting, garaged etc.. just because a car hits a certain age, that doesn't mean you can have a classic car policy

yes insurers will still charge you an extra £300 quid if you swap from a 1990 mk2 to a 1985 mk2, 'because its a classic sir'
