mk4 1998 parts fit 9n 52 plate?

Featured Replies

hi my friend has recently crashed her car which is a mk4 1998 polo . i have a polo 9n 2002 and I'm just wondering what parts can i actually take and use on my car is there any that fit? for example would the exhaust and cat conveter fit on my car, would the discs + pads and shoes fit on my car? as the car is getting scrapped we are trying to salvage and re-use as much as possible

thanks very much for the help in advance

If the engine codes are the same the CAT might fit, depends on the placement and routing of the exhaust as to whether it fits. Brakes you would need to measure the discs and match up but I'd guess not.

Different shape so no bodywork will fit

Edit: just take everthing you can off it and sell it then at least she may making something off it rather then just scrapping (I know they so give you some money)

Battery may be useful, bulbs etc

Pretty much nothing whatsoever.

Oil cap.

Sump plugs.

Battery.

Possibly a wiper blade.

Some of the bulbs.

Possibly petrol cap.

That's about it, I recon.

Car mats...

Engines are different, 9n is 5 stud so brakes need that wouldn't fit

the cat won't fit as the 9n uses a mani-cat arrangement. the 9n shares virtually nothing with earlier polos.
