thinking of getting a set of gaz coilovers for my mk 2 coupe, what are peoples veiws on them/ experiences and the quality? any info appreciated, cheers! :)

Mine are getting there slowly. In standard form the kit was shit IMO.

Not particularly impressed with the quality, welding isn't brilliant, parts they've machined didn't particularly have a nice finish, looks like its just been done to get it done. No passion gone into them.

Literally everyone I have spoken to in the know (not forum hero's) said its a good job they have a warranty as I'm sure they'll need rebuilding well before its up.

Have had friends run them on various other things with issues with quality and them breaking or leaking...but options wise there's not much out there.

Springs will effect it a lot. But dampers are too, there was literally no R&D into these, they have never fitted a set to a polo themselves. Use a generic damper setting and some "suggested" spring rates by somebody, who since Gaz have even admitted they wouldn't recommend that setup.

How you can sell something which them, the "experts" have never fitted on a car and tried is beyond me.

Rears are compression and rebound adjustable, front is just rebound adjustable. Like most cheaper end adjustable dampers they may have 43 clicks or whatever, half of them do fuck all and a few make a big difference.

I wouldn't not recommend them, but also I wouldn't rave about them like what people do. But then again, some people are easily satisfied and want to feel like they're in a go kart with no refinement
