I have a mk2 breadvan and was wondering what the best engine would be for it, I have already had a g40 and a g60 in it. It is originally a 1.0l, (the standard engine I turbocharged) but I wanted to put a bike engine in it for the torque and small capacity. Has anyone done this or known of it done? Help me out! What engine? I was planning a zx10 from a ninja

the easiest engine to fit will be suzuki 1200 bandit or gsx1400 as these are oil cooled so no radiator or plumbing and are very torquey low and mid range

if you want water cooled the gsx1300r hayabusa(which can be turbo,d aswell)

the zx10r and gsxr1000 engines are very peaky for a car but will work

if you can find one a zzr1400 engine will be ideal

I shall speak to some friends tomorrow. Two of them specialist in specific conversion kits and another has just built an MX5 with a bike engine, very good guys and work is second to none, I'll see what they recommend.

Will you be going RWD?

Will a 1000cc be enough? I don't really want bigger because it may be a bit too powerful for my first car. I might not be going rwd currently because I know I will get pulled over too much for drifiting.

Fireblade in a Derby (Mk1 Polo saloon) has been done. 'Dangerous' Dave Custance built it with a Capri rear axle out back and the bike engine at the front. It was christened the Derbyblade.

I imagine if your breadvan's had a G60 engine in it previously then the front end is already pretty chopped about?

A company called cpr performance, its mainly french cars and therefore haven't had much experience with bikes

A cars a car, doesn't really matter what make, a bike engine isn't going to just bolt in if you grab a mount off a mk2 golf and some shafts off an Audi a1

tbf conor you should turbo a 1.0 as nick said! pretty cool and never seen it done

I was thinking about doing it, I have a turbo, inlet manifold, exhaust manifold and carb all from a renault 5 gt turbo so with some fabrication...so the choice is to turbo the 1.0L or go for a bike engine

I have seen a few Old Mini's with gsx1300r engines

If you can fit a G60, which is a tall black, fuck the bike engine and 1.8t it, if you love turbo's that much.

If it's going FWD, there's no point in the bike engine.

Don't mean to sound harsh but that cbr company is hardly tuning like we are all thinking, this is on there website "chrome car accessories and car lighting, your car is bound to impress" sounds like...actually I won't go there but we all know the kinda people that have "chrome" on there car and the bodykits you offer Aswell... and your only 16 so I guess your on a college day release, apprenticeship or something along those lines. I may be sounding harsh and a dick but what can you expect when you claim to have done the stuff you've claimed and to have done it at 16 and with the quite so evident lack of knowledge. If you would of have just started a hello thread with what car you've actually got and it's engine ect... You would of had a different reception

is it going to be a track warrior then or a road car? if its gonna your first car on the road then i wouldnt even think of an engine conversion... imagine the insurance! doesnt matter whether its still technically a 1.0 (1000cc), its a conversion so they wont even touch you dude!
