Would like to make the car look lower but without lowering it any more!

I have heard by taking the arch-trim off would help and by putting a larger/different splitter on would also do good?

any other ideas?

and dont say lower the car more because it is far too low as it is, on 13's and a harsh drop as seen below!

You wanna remove the sill trims, or at least have the sills red however. At the moment your doors look like the lowest part of the car because it's black from there down (shadowed). If your sills were the same as the bodywork, that'd bring the bodywork down to the burger box.

Fake lows just look shit imo. I feel a bit of embarrassment when I see people posting pics of their mk3 with some scabby splitter screwed to the bottom of the bumper, dragging on the floor, and then you see a side on view of the massive arch gap. As mikey says if you just want it to look lower colour coding or removing the sill trims will do that to pretty good effect

This Merc was driving around at action one year, it was on air but still needed those silly looking sill trims to look like it was low, oh how we mocked it.

i have man! I've spent about 1-2hrs bending and making shorter hangers etc for it to sit higher, the downpipe is about 5mm of the driveshafts and the up close to the body on the way down... cant really do much else?

how does everyone manage?

I'm not sure, if your exhaust is as tucked up as it can be it shouldnt be a problem, mine never catches. Go study it in the air, see where you can adjust it, without seeing it its hard to say really, stock exhaust do fit shit like and thats why i got rid of the stock one.

Yeah mines tucked up away.. lowest point was the cat protector before i put my new engine in

Sorry is that yours? Mate, its probably 80mm max.... if your having issues now then leave it asis really.

Issue with spraying sills red would be it wont flow with the arch trims.

I think that looks really good..

Anyway, a Mac box is still pretty tall.. A good 3 inches..

To me that sits perfect, no need to lower it more.

if I'm honest, the best way to make that lower would be.... to lower it more, which it does need a bit really

Think the front needs a tiny bit more but don't know how to do ot?

My mate said to heat the springs a little to make them sag a little?

What's under the sills? Painted metal?

Chop a coil off the front if you are on a -80 kit, you will be reaching the end of your damper travel tho so may encounter bottoming out issues, maybe someone that done it can say for sure?

Your exhaust needs re shaping Jordan had to do it on my old one, lowering onto strategically placed blocks of wood haha

i'd cut a coil of the bottom part of the springs all round or invest in coilovers, can get a pair of rears for about £70, fronts are about £350 though

should be painted metal but I'm guessing it wont be if you've never had the trims off, may be a bit holey and orange

dont heat springs up though!

easy the whole back part of the exhaust moves up and down when it touches bumps, doesnt damage it all, i raised it an inch since that exhaust pic above, its still only about an inch and a half from the ground though

13's, 13x7 with 175/50 on and 13x8 rears with 195/45 tyres
