Soooo basically try and cut a long story short. I had a gt before and i put a AFH lump init with bike carbs. I didnt finish engine swap and ended up breaking it to buy my mates gt and plus my old gt was rotten. So onto the new gt. my friend had it a month or two then it started to burn a lot of oil and he didnt have the funds or knowledge to fix it so i bought it. So i dropped the engine out and to rebuild it. It ended up being a blocked breather on the block causing the block to cook its self. So i picked up a new block for £20 happy days. When i took the block to work i noticed the old cooked block wasnt a correct gt block.

so i got the new block wasnt in best shape.

gave it a clean up

them a spray in black

stripped the pistons out

just waiting on rings to be posted £86!!!!

also wanted to do somthing diffrent with the dash and my boss was flocking his track bmw daash so i got mine done to.

Shes been sat for a few months now so more like sh@t silver haha piston rings turned up today! So now now i can start putting her back together :-)

So been doing some head work replacing all the seals. Heres my osvat machined valves

Head re matched and ported. Was more polished before so had to tidy it up.

I remeber your build thread when you had it. I really dont no i need to get pictures up of it so somone can tell me. Did the owner you buy it off rebuild it? The cams in it are huge schrick 384 maybe why its a bit lumpy. They only just clear the head!

Few parts, cam belt, water pump, headgasket kit, headbolts, piston rings.

All together just gotta time her up tomorrow and give the head a quick clean up.

No the guy before him apparently, it looked clean enough but never ran properly, it was alot slower than my first GT.

When i had it there was loads of air leaks. Wrong Compression in all the cylinders. The pistons in the old block are deeper then a gt piston meaning lower compression. :-/ there was no paperwork with the car. And its a CAT D got written off in like 2008

Jesus I didn't think it was that serious, all I did was set the AFM properly as it wasn't doing its job properly. Will keep an eye on this to see how you get on but nice to see it will be done properly this time :)

Here's it when I had it

I got the engine back in the car up and running but running like shit did a compression check cyl 2,3,4 all 180 cyl 1 nothing..... Now the amateur mistake! I had timmed the engine up but the next morning i thought i would double check the collets took the cam out check it all was okay put the cam back in and pushed valve 1 on piston 1 :-/ i should of put the pistons all half way down the block! I turned it over and thought it was okay untill i put it in the car! Head back off again!
