Mk3 washer bottle options

Featured Replies

Hey.

Want to get rid of my washer bottle from the inner wing.

Be nice to mount one under my scuttle cover..most universal ones are too tall, almost like I need a laid down one.

Want a proper solution, not one that needs to be half full to work all the time etc.

I'm sure iv read a corsa bottle can be used, and the polo pump fits, but where would this fit?

Also thought about using a mk2 one below the header tank, I know my body hasn't got the bracket for it, but I'm sure I could make one up..anyone got a pic of one? Or any other ideas?

Could make an ally one with an inline pump I guess but can't really be bothered.

Cheers

loads of space under the inner wing to fit a bootle and have a neck come up out of sight.

mine is an olg mg bottle with a universal lucas pump, works well, just need to change washer jets.

Good idea actually.

Mk4 fiesta one might be suitable, it has a detachable neck/filler that could be routed to suit and the pump unit is a push fit into the container.

Yeah lot of landrovers have them but they're mostly huge due to headlamp washers

Mk1 Golf Washer bottle might be a good shout for the inner wing.

You can fit a tank in the boot behind the inner skin. Early mk2s have them there for the rear washer.

Might be a bugger if you want to use both front and rear washers. If you are just using the fronts you can make use of the existing pipework to the rear.

I'm with gaz , having issues tho , I've put a post up for help, look on my build thread Harris

Eric has one in his scuttle, don't know what it's from though;

its a ford bottle

I'm guessing nick has seen it as hes mentioned it needing to be half full, which as my pump is on its side mine does.

i could probably sort that but i cba, it works fine as it is.

nick if your interested in a smaller bottle, i have an early mk2 bottle somewhere, and i will be attacking my engine bay with a grinder very shortly so i could potentially hack the bracket off for you.

I don't want to put it in the boot.

It's not exactly hard is it, it's just that I don't want to fit my washer bottle in the boot. Lol.

Might have a trawl of eBay and see what look suitable.

Putting something under scuttle would be a bit of a faff because it's a full cover so I'd have to remove it to top up

corsa b bottle is used often, unsure where there mounted tho

Yeah that's what I thought lol.

always wondered if something like this was any good and mount it in the scuttle tray

Thought you dint wanna because you removed the pipe work , not just full stop babes :-) x

Id looked at them, just too tall I think?

You can get the universal ones which look like rice bags..Could mount that in wing with a tube to fill . Be worried about how flimsy they are mate ..

Let me know though man.. I'm looking at binning mine off.

Could use that in the garage as a water supply its that big haha

Am i the only person uncool enough to fit the huge 2F washer bottle in the pre-facelift bay..?

It's not like I have to change a headlamp bulb often..

It makes sense really, I'll be doing it next time I own a MK2.

They're like 7 litres or something silly aren't they? I'm sure MK2 with headlamp washers have a 7L tank.
