Horse meat is well nice. Wish i got some horsey beef burgers would have been a mint surprise

My sister owns horses, she's mad about them, even she's been putting humour out about it - but i don't really feel the subject because i don't eat burgers. Or any chopped/shaped meat. It's been seriously dodgy for hundreds of years but these days you'd have to be suicidal to eat burgers, the industry just isn't right.

The odd issue leaks into the news at times, mad cow disease, horses in beef, whatever goes on it isn't in line with the pretty pictures and i aint touching it. My family are mostly veggies for this reason, but i eat meat as long as i can see what i'm eating. Yeah, a few litres of water hinder me cooking the average chicken breast but i can deal with that.

In seriousness I can see the kick up due to them putting the horse in an not declaring it (leading to the thought of what else is in there?) but other than that it's not gona kill anyone. Might go buy some for tea tonight lol.

In fairness I grew up hunting and shooting and have ate the likes of squirrel, rabbit, pheasant, duck, etc so I'd try anything. I'd say if the fuckers crying were staving the horses wouldn't be so safe :p

It just comes down to the labelling regulations, if they were on sale as "Burgers" there would'nt be a problem, the onus would be on the buyer to check the ingredients on the packages, the fact they were labelled a "Beef Burgers" people just assume they are 100% beef

It wouldnt have mattered if they put 25%beef 25% horse. 50% other stuff. People could decide yay or Neigh. But they didnt.

Moral of the story. Dont buy shite burgers. Buy quality ones or minced beef and make your own. Taste far better as have none of the shit they use in cheapo made burgers. And they dont shrink to the size of your thumb nail when cooked.

Tbh if your going to buy Tesco value burgers you should count yourself lucky there only horse meat bulking it up.

I'm a vegetarian but have no problem with others eating meat at all. I find it funny that people are kicking up a fuss about this. Why not eat horse? In fact the majority of horses have likely lived in better conditions than the intensively farmed cattle that goes into reformed meat. People are just put off because they see horses as domesticated animals and thus above human consumption. The same goes for Korea and dogs, or eating pidgeon or any other meat for that matter. It's not more 'dirty' than other forms of animal protein. Make up yout mind carnivores! Most of the meat you eat is rammed full of water, salt, emulsifiers along with the 'worst' bits of the animal like skin and fat anyway.

I probably know more on this subject than most due to my career. So this will be a supplier who has taken in some cheap meat to supplement what has been contracted so that they can afford to operate, after they have been negotiated down to selling Tesco a pack of 8 burgers that Tesco can afford to sell for £1 that is 12.5p a burger!!! - and people are surprised a supplier has tried it on.

Its horse meat, not rat or cockroach. Ok so not what advertised. Slap on the wrist, issue an apology, chunk of cash to good causes and call out the supplier that either was negligent or operating illegally.

Id be more worried about the manufacturer of the device you are using to access the Internet who have probably polluted the planet. My colleague just got back from our office in china where in Beijing the sun appears red and the visibility is about 1k. So they announce a 7 runway airport expansion. Also instead of popcorn at the cinema they snack on chicken feet.

I don't like horses and i'd give a big horse steak with all the trimmings a go...fcuk yeah.

a whole donner kebab on the spit costs between £30-£40 depending on supplier and weighs about 20kg which will make between 50-60 kebabs.

i had a look at the ingredients on one ages ago and it was about 35% mutton, mutton and lamb fat, soya protein, bread crumbs salt and various other ingredients that help prevent food poisoning when it's heated and put back in the freezer (usually 2-3 times if the shop is quiet)
