Sorry its a 9n3 polo 55 facelift 1.4

And will update cheers

F2 is the drivers door switch

T21 connector (the diagram is for LHD so this is on the RH "A" pillar for RHD)

As the door switch is providing a discrete earth to the "onboard power supply unit" (The grey box at the top of the diagrams) if you connect your additional lights direct to the door switch you risk damaging the power supply unit, as there will be 12v effectively sitting on the Brown/Yellow wire, you will need to connect the earth wire for your additional lights to the BROWN/BLACK wire comming from pin 1 of the BLACK 5 pin connector on the power supply unit as seen on the second diagram

Removing and installing door contact switch

The following components (depending on level of equipment) are integrated into the driver side door lock:

t Driver door contact switch -F2- on vehicles with no central locking system

t Driver side central locking lock unit -F220- on vehicles with central locking system

Looking at it it looks like more hassle!!! would it be easier taking a power/switched earth from the actual interior light??? down the head lining through the pillar to the door card???

Anyone know the wiring colour to the interior light??

The supply to the roof light is RED/BLACK and the switched earth is BROWN/BLACK

Unfortunately most of it is signals from the body control computer or power supplies comming from the onboard power supply unit, about the only analogue signals are for the switch backlighting either solid GREY or GREY/BLUE and earth solid BROWN

I know this was posted a while ago, but in case anyone from this post is still active here, what do you mean by adding to the ground to the brown/black wire on the pin 1 of the BLACK 5 pin connector on J519 (psu)? Where to get the positive wire? Where it would trigger the light when door is opened? And wouldnt that be the same as in the intirior light since intirior lights are also connected to that ground wire?
