Clarion Single Din DVD Broken

Featured Replies

So basically I have a clarion single din DVD head unit, when I press the open button for the screen to come out it sticks half way out and makes a crunching noise..

Is there any ways of fixing this at all?

Regards

Lewis

There might be, but on the other hand, there might not

Without further information its impossible to say. There are companies that may be able to repair but if as it sounds, its a mechanical failure, it will probably need parts which can be expensive if you can get them at all. With a branded unit you stand a better chance of parts but you may find you have to buy an assembly eg the entire mechanism rather than just the individual part that's needed.

Is there any chance there could be something inside the mechanism, a coin, pen, stylus, girl/boy-friend's jewellery?

Best thing for this type of repair is a geeky mate who'll have a look for the cost of a pint (or whatever the currency is these days), failing that a specialist auto audio company who do either free or fixed cost checks. When you know what's up and the cost of fixing you've got to decide if its worth it.

There's 100% nothing stuck inside it, I have checked this, its strange if you put a little pressure on the screen as it moves out it comes fine.. I think I may have to get a mate of mine to take it apart and see!

Thanks for the advice/help mate
