Yeah it is aint it!

heres a video of scrapeage! i have the rat stuff on so will be a touch lower than before but not loaddss :

That's just the exhaust get your middle box cut out and remove the exhaust brace thing if you have it

Yeh all that is is middle section box, cut it out as said and straight pipe it.

The first bang wasn't the middle box there's this sticky out bit underneath, don't know what it is on the bottom of the engine that catches

Would love to straight pipe it but what about MOT and loudness and back pressure... In real life it looks tons lower but I do agree it needs a bit!!

Just got to convince my dad haha!

Take a photo of this bit sticking out?

You say you want it like the green one but more poke? The green one has too much poke and not low enough, looks silly, Yours is better than that atm, I would recommend trying to roll the rear arch some more and do as suggested and cut off the return lip on the arch trims, that should allow the extra lows and weight in the rear.

As for the front I would'nt advise cutting springs, they are designed the way they are for a reason, save up and buy some coilovers for the front :)

Put up a picture side on of the car to give an idea of how it looks atm, I bet its not too bad :)

Wish my first car was this cool :)

Found out what it was,

didnt get a picture cause i couldnt get the camera under the car but its basically the back of the gearbox and the front of the box has got scrape marks along with the manifold and the bottom of the body (either side of the exhaust where the downpipe clip is)

When I got her she looked a bit shabby under the bonnet:

Bonnet had 22 years of shite on!

Quick polish and a bit of blackening/spraying some bits:

Then sandblasted the air intake cover and rocker, primed and sprayed these satin black :D

How it looked after... bit of self whoring after a drive and some pictures :)

What do you think?

not a sexy 1.4 16v but best for my insurance atm :D

Surely not the box? There are things lower than the box that'd have to sexually abuse the road 1st.

Sure its not the metal bracket thing that goes where the cat would be? (i assume MK2's have these still?)

That was always the lowest part on mine when it was fitted. Would have to do some impressively shocking driving to get the gearbox to hit? Unless road's cambered to fuck.

Theres one bit of the gearbox mount and its got scrapes on and theres abit of the body that sticks out thats got scrapes on!?

i try to go over bumbs etc as best as i could!

Sam

To take on bumps its best to quite literally stop then crawl over them

EDIT: I actually love your car, clean as  great progress!!

SMALL ish Update

New pressed plates:

DSC_1507_zpsf9ab73fe.jpg

then next plan was to sort the grill! saw some had chrome strips top and bottom so i got some silver hammerite out:

WP_000533_zpsb41b930e.jpg

(not the best finish but you cant really tell.. actually looks shiny in the picture)

then this came!!!

WP_000744_zps19d8f018.jpg

so after my ongoing collection of magic trees grew by 2 (nice offer at halfords) and the addition of a 8 ball gear knob the interior now looks like:

SAM_0216_zpsfeb384d7.jpg

think it looks much better and the larger wheel makes parking alot easier!

also can see the clocks sooooo much better :)
