differences between lupo gti and polo gti engine and gearbox?

Featured Replies

sorry for the year old bump

This info is gret, this was on my mind for a while.

Just a few questions, if any ome knowns.

As lupo gti engines and gearbox are hard to come by and the ones I can find are a small fortune (more then the car) could this be done with an ahw 1.4 or bca/bcb 1.6 etc block? As they are csst for the 02 boxs

Also, what is the main difference between the 02t and say a golf 6speed I ask because I don't mind notching the chassies leg if there is a proper mount available, I dont necesssrily want a 6 speed but the golf boxes are a bit better when handling power imo and a hydro clutch seems like a nice feature

Also, am I right in saying that an afh head would bolt onto an ahw or bca block ? My plans are to have something completely different to the norm.

Also, if these sre stupid questions, then please just let me know...becsuee I am a bit stupid

Thanks guys

  • I know this is a dumb question, right?.. But if: Lupo can be fitted with the AHW engine - the 1.4 16v. Which the 6n2 comes with as standard. That means the chassis mounts for the Lupo are the s

They are stupid questions and about 75% of them aren't relevant.

If you want to fit a six speed box in the polo with minimal hassle then this is the only way.

I built one of these about a month ago, it is a sweet little car.
