6n2 Cupra conversion

Featured Replies

Hi all I'm new to club polo and gonna start this build thread, advice and knowlage from people who have done it would be appreciated.

I'm building this for one of my mates as I work for the vag group and have good knowlage of the 1.8t lump from building my own mk4.

The plan is to fit the Cupra engine dash shocks hubs brakes and whole loom into a polo 6n2

Here's some pics of the donor car it's a ex show car Ibiza 1.8t 180bhp mapped to 212bhp already I know that the ibiza runs a mk3 golf front end while using parts that match the 6n2 inside so feel its better then using a golf as a donor car and only cost £500 quid with tax and mot with full seat history along with extensive tsr tuning history. So far we have stripped the unwanted parts off the Cupra and sold them on to make near double the value we paid, so now just waiting for the snow to clear and find a decent 6n2 to use as a base model.

Today we went out for a hour as had crap weather but got front end off and all the bits off the polo ready to drop engine out, and strip interior n put cupra dash in it next weekend also sold the rest of the Ibiza parts we don't need if any one needs a aud engine or 1.4 gearbox let me know £100 for engine and £90 for box we stuck the battery on the Cupra and fired it up n still runs with hardly anything connected

  • 2 weeks later...

out of interest, what was up with the cupra? seems a shame to have stripped it

Looks good mate! Alot of people are doing it Olly with caddy vans and polo estates etc as its straight swap engine mounts line up etc swap the dash steering wheel all wiring etc over and cheap as chips 1k tops and its just time and space to do it as above :)

Id much rather have had the cupra than the polo

Gorgeous cars they are.

thats why i was asking

The reason why is cause my mate wants a 1.8t polo cause he loves polos that's it the Cupra was just a doner car that was needed and happened to be local weather you lot feel its a nice car or not to me or my mate its a shell that carrys a heart to another car :)

  • Author

Plus the Cupra was cheap and doubled the profits from selling the crap that was bolted to it lol

Went up to do a hour on the polo, we got have took engine out and test fitted the weitec coilys from the cupra
