I thought id wait to see what its like...and it turned out like i though, really dislike it. Good effort though

Everyone has their likes and dislikes for me seeing the car from what it was and to what it is now its a completely different motor it will appeal to some and dislike to others aswell..... For me it was doing something different then the norm that was out there

Are you doing anything with the bumpers mate? Smooth 8v or a 16v or anything?

  • Author

ATM I'm keeping the original bumpers however I will be looking for a aftermarket kit to put on in the near future although the smooth bumpers are quite nice I want to make it look different the cars growing on me every day tbh I look forward to driving it once its done

Quick question, on the last page you said your painters ATA approved and used to work for McClaren, so surely he knows the dangers of spraying with no mask on. Atleast I hope he does.

No way he'd get an ATA approval without using the appropriate RPE (respiratory protective equipment)

Just saying cause every job I paint I where a mask whether canister or air fed.

  • Author

Yep he is ATA accredited although I provide him with a proper mask sometimes the laziness of painters trust me I've had few since I've had my business have bad habits his one is sometimes he goes in without mask which I always bollock him about.... He doesn't do it all the time just that particular shot he didn't have it on

Added my own little touch

post-121177-1362157438_thumb.jpg

Had to check the date of the post to make sure it wasn't from the 90's

Think it could have looked pretty just all orange, but the black accents make it look a bit tokyo drift-esque. Paint finish is pretty good though!

  • Author

Thanks for kind words it might not be everyone taste however I love it the pictures don't do it justice.... You have to see it in flesh been busy with customers cars but ill hope full have it all finished soon to enjoy

Good effort on the work and good luck to you on the build

but like already said, it does look like something from the 90s and out of maxpower lol

as a point, if you own your own bodyshop business etc....how old are you?? and why are you building a polo...you have probably said I'm just way to lazy to read massive paragraphs lol

  • Author

lol max power I used to love that mag.. I wanted to do something different and lairy with the colour tbh hence the colour scheme my business is located in EAst Grinstead in west sussex and I'm 32 years of age the Vehicle was given to me by a friend I decided as a little project to custom paint it instead of letting if die and rust

here is another VW classic I recently restored for a customer at my bodyshop.....
