Retro 1986 Audi 80 CL

Featured Replies

For sale my 86 Audi 80 CL.

Owned for a couple of years now, was my daily but just bought another mk2 golf and not using this so would like to free up some driveway space for a jet ski.

Engine/Chassis

1.6 petrol, manual

Weber carb, manual choke (runs a bit lumpy but never fails to start and surprisingly frugal)

Spax adjustable shocks and spax springs -60mm (1 year old perfect condition cost £400)

New dizzycap, rotor arm, plugs, leads, air filer, oil filter and oil.

Brand new LUK clutch.

New subframe bushes and engine mount.

Speedo says 164k but engine is v solid, uses no oil or water at all and with new clutch etc i expect this car to go on and on.

Bodywork/exterior

Original panels etc.

Very solid, no rot (just a couple of surface rust blobs here and there)

Various age related scratches etc.

AA grill badge

Pressed metal number plates (legal uk font)

Has original dealer sticker from garage in reading, ( i bought the car from old guy in reading)

Aerial is down in pictures (its basically new, very long and very straight)

Interior

Original blue velour interior (they dont make them like this anymore)

Original dealer fit Audi floor mats (been in since new i expect as carpet underneath is unworn)

1980's Pioneer cassette radio with graphic equaliser built in.

Wheels/Tyres

14X6 Centra alloys. (dare i say very rare never seen another set of these in this size with flat face and dish) Wheels are all date stamped november 1982.

I refurbed the wheels last summer but the winter has been cruel. Ideally need a fine sand and going through the grades on buffing wheel again. But see pics they still buff up well and have plenty of shine.

155/55/14 nankang tyres all legal but could do with flipping around as inner edge on front is wearing more.

Car and wheels are 4x100.

Bad bits

Its old, theres no power steering, electric windows, air con etc but heater works great and car warms up a treat.

Central locking not working, i have unplugged the pump. (when plugged in vac pump runs and runs as one of the solenoids has gone. Just needs tracing and swapping and will work again fine. Solenoids are blue type, same as mk2 golfs etc and very readily available. Not a difficult job to swap over)

Various age related marks/scratches, small parking dings etc. A couple of the arches have been touched up with silver before i got the car and it not a great match (not very noticeable).

Surface rust patch on drivers door shut.

Black rubbing strips have rusted and blown open (previous owner filled with black poly sealant)

Drivers seat bolster has worn through, rest of interior is mint.

See photobucket for loads of pics. http://s751.photobucket.com/albums/xx159/mk2_al/Audi%2080/

£1000 (can have the centra's or the very good condition 15x7 ronal LS wheels on the mk2 golf with good 195/45 tyres for this price)

or

£700 bring your own wheels

Original Wheels are long gone I'm afraid bar the one spare in the boot. I'm sure you could pick some up in a scrappy for next to nothing. I do have the original hubcaps like these to fit 13" wheels
