Cancellation Fee!?

Featured Replies

So i was looking online at new insurance as i wanted some new wheels for my car but flux direct wouldn't allow any modifications to be on my policy, so i come across a good price from elephant (infact it was £600 cheaper with mods) so i took out a policy with them and rang up flux direct to cancel my existing policy and the woman on the phone tells me there is a £202 cancellation fee just wondering if anyone has had the same problem and if there is anyway in lowering this price.

Any help will be appreciated thanks.

Okay thanks a lot for the help guys appreciate it!

I've just changed my old policy over to new policy and it went up 75 a month!!! Said how much to cancell costs me another 150 to cancel and then have to get deposit for new one aswell :( sucks!

flux direct not allowing mods? that's strange, my polo and 407 is insured with them and both are on modified policies,

but tbh they might have age restrictions on their policies as i was 19 when i first insured a car with them.

depending on how long the policy has left, if you only have a few months left i would return the car to standard and stick with them as you won't get any no claims discount off them if you cancel.

if you have only just taken out the policy, after working out the saving and if it covers the cancellation fee and saves you money then i'd cancel.

there's bugger all you can do about cancelation fees as they were in the contract you entered into when you took out the policy.

I wasn't allowed mods on my policy, they said i would have to take out a new policy which would be an extra £400 a year. So i looked online and got it cheaper from elephant. So its all happy days when iv paid the cancellation fee tomorrow :p I've only been with them for 4 months, long way off my no claims yet. anyways thanks for the advice dude.

Yeah i know man, the things we pay out for our cars is crazy :p

Flux are the broker, so it's up to the policy provider they put you with as to whether you get a policy and an insurer which will let you modify.

yup. same with brentacre. there only brokers, not your insurers, they just have a list of companies theyll search for a reasonable quotes, so they may differ.
