i am 17 on a provisional driving a 1.3 mk3 and paying 1500.

my renew next year with pass-plus and full liscence will be 660.

give quinn direct a call. by far the cheapest

i pay £980 for TFT with adrian flux with all mods declared and with no NCB holding my licence for under a year and a crash at my fault

oh and a quite bad area for insurance

I'm 18 and hold a full driving liscence and got 1.3 mk3, I got insured with quinn direct 2 but I pay 1800 :-(

When I was 17 I paid £1300 on my GT - modless

Try HIC

They quoted me

£639 TPFT, I'm 20, driving less than a year, all mods declared ( engine swap, wheels, lowering, chip, induction kit)

i've just got a quote for £1312 on a 1993 GT Coupe, for when I am 18 and have been driving a year. 10 month bonus accelerator thing, TPF+T

i thought this was brilliant, hadnt considered a GT cuz of tooo high insurance ! but am defo now!

i'm on £1400 on a 1.3 genesis in my first year! (19yrs old)

so count yourself lucky!

Definately off to brentacre/flux/hic next year though!

What the hell!

I'm paying 900 fully comp for 9 months and when that finishes in nine months I have one no claims and and my insurance on it will go down by 52%! I'm with norwich union on a provisional and I'm 18!

erm I'm 19 insured my car today for £1450

but that includes break down cover and quite a few extra things

and i only passed my test on fri

£1200, 19, 0NCB, 24k a year, mods declared, 3 points on a Mk4 Golf GTTDI.

Loverly, had a quote of £1400 for an S3 at my renewal. Temtping....

I think it depends mainly on the area. Looks like I'm paying by far the most :(

it amazes me that people will willingly pay more than the cars worth for insurance...

it amazes me that people will willingly pay more than the cars worth for insurance...

in my case I had 2 grand to spend to buy/insure my first car.

cheapest insurance was 1500 so i only had 500 to spend on a car.

plus my car is worth a million zillion gazillion pounds :p :p :smirk:

yes.. but after than 9months.. you will another 3 months to insure for the usual year.. which may well end up about 300quid, probably more..

you probably wont be able to take that "no claims" to another company so will have to stay with nowrich which wont be as competitive as you'd like no doubt?

(or so i hear.......)?

wrighty.. to insure any car being a young male drive is going to be virtually a grand..

funnily enough.. i dont have another grand to buy a car with (so the insurace isnt MORE than the cars worth :-p .. so i ended up with a £400 car!

i was 20 when i passed my test (didn't really bother to learn to drive till then), when i passed my test to insure my polo 1.4 mk7 it cost 1400 for a rapid bonus scheme with norwich union (it gives 9 months cover for a years no claims), i didnt do pass plus, my renewal was 590 for same policy,

to get a cheaper quote raise the excess, put eg your dad on the policy as a named driver, and you as the main driver, get a decent car alarm

hope this helps

I'm paying £1267 for a 10 month bonus accelerator through elephant (yes I know it won't count as a years NCB!) on my Standard Saxo VTR 19 ONCB Driving for almost 2 years.

Count yourselves allllllllllllll lucky

If you were to be the same age and driving the same car but living in Belfast you would be looking at a minimum of around 3 grand, and thats if they even insure you!

My mate was paying £3600 when he was 19 to insure himself on a 1.4 306!

1200 for a GT

whos that with fooking hell! I'm planning on getting 1 as a run about and was expecting it to be cheaper than my mk4 and the mk4 is only £600 with all mods declared
