just had a cd player off one of my mates, so i unplugged the old radio and then plugged in the cd player, (jist a straight swap)the problem is that the cd.player does come on and works fine, i jist have no sound coming ffrom the speaker, its a 6n2 polo btw. ?? any ideas?? thanks

Anyhoo, if you plug your old one back in does it play sound again?

Was there a small loom that came with the CD player?

Is the CD player Aftermarket or from another dub?

the old one is the original vw tape player/radio, it didnt turn on at all jist stopped working randomly. so thats when i got the cd player plugged it in, it turned on , played cd fully working but no sound. its aftermarket ( jvc )

there are 2 plugs.coming out the back off the cd player and tgey jus plugged in to the current plugs ffrom the car, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this sort of stuff lol

Have you got a manual for wiring diagrams? Also the two connection that you plugged in are the right way round? (I know its a silly question but worth a check)

This is puzzling me too, but put the CD player back and check it hasn't been faded fully or near fully to the rear.

ye iv cheked that to mate, its not the faded

I personally would try another CD player to see if its a problem with the unit or the car.

Either that or remove the front speakers and put the CD player on and check for 12v feed

I'm confused now. Speakers get a few volts AC not 12v DC.

I know this is going to sound basic but you have put a cd in the head unit and switched it to "CD" ? I'll bet a lot of head units power up in standby mode.

Might aswell try it and see what your getting

ye the cd actually plays, what coulour are the speaker wires??

The brown plug on mine does te speaker wires (joins to your new loom with green, purple wires)

I can't see that would make any difference, unless that brown ISO plug isn't pushed fully in, that looks like it should work.
