I'm struggling to find another car forum in the uk, that even matches Club Polo's following!

Driftworks - 48,000? You didn't look very hard

I joined because I wanted advice on buying my first car which was a mk3 polo!

i joined because i knew nothing about polos.

i still know nothing about polos.

I joined because google search

I'm pretty sure we are tiny compared to most?

Surely Edition has more?

Retro Rides?

I joined for information to begin with. Also, some of the best blokes i know are through this forum

I'm pretty sure we are tiny compared to most?

Surely Edition has more?

Retro Rides?

This is a specific car though

Some of the biggest dickheads i know are through this forum

But seriously, I've met some of the best people in my life right now thanks to this place <3

Couldn't say the same about the mini forums i was on, although i met a few awesome's through TMF :)

And on that note, i bet theminiforum is bigger.

i Joined in schoool , Just to look at pics of 6ns ..

Then somehow bought a polo and remembered i had a account lmao

Hence the name jamiedub brapbrappp!

was going buy civic never happened so a red 6n came along so started goggling some for respiration then i found club polo been on it ever since everyday 10 times a day lol am on alot for forums but only really post on here dew to there being alot of arseholes on other forums :) and pretty much every thing you need to know about polos is here

i used to have a citroen ax and remembered how useful the guys on the axoc forum where, so when it came to getting my polo, i looked for a polo owners club, and here i am!

I cant remember how i came across this forum. But i think it was something to do with having a MK1 Polo as a first car when i was 18, and it needed (more than) a few parts. I think i found MK1 polo club first, which led to finding here very shortly after. 4 polos and 5 years later i'm still here, and on here several times a day. Actually dont know what i'd do without the forum now, its been a great resource and a one stop shop for polo knowledge. I have always been a dub nut, since i could talk, and i am a proper polo nut now (especially the MK1-3/ 86c), and find it difficult to think about a point where i wont own at least one polo :-D

Sax-P is car specific and has 3x the members ;)

and 5x the chavs

You don't even see saxo's any more pretty sure not many of those members are active anymore,

I joined when I bought a G40 when I was 19 and shit my pants driving it home, the next morning the headlight switch broke so I google searched and joined up :)

I like it because even tho its not as fast paced as it used to be you can be working on your car post something have a brew and you will have a reply where as other forums you can wait over a week!

Plus there are top guys and females on here ;)

we did have about 48,000 registered members.... until we did a cull :)

Some stats:

this year we have had

4572 users active i.e logged in

1570 of those have posted something this year

normally one of the criticism is that we are too large as a club! :)

Anyway...

I joined up when I got the polo back in 2005 as I normally join car clubs for the cars that I own... :)

Before that when my brother owned the car he was a member of the Coupe S owners club!

I joined up because i knew nothing about polos, I've only even worked on fords and everything on a ford comes away by unscrewing 2 8mm bolts!

havnt really contributed much but do enjoy the general atmosphere of the forum :)

Wonder why there are so many lurkers!! 3002 of the bastards!!

I joined when I picked up my first polo the mk2 coupe.. which I was just looking for more info on it then eventually had several more polo's since!

has got to be the best forum I've used as the rest of them are full of wankers haha!

met some corking people through the forum over the years!

bugger me 11 years this year! :o :o :o i still only look 11

I signed up in '08 because panda had his 9n and i wanted to see what was going on...

so being nosey brought me here, and i've been lurking ever since!

Decided to stop using the cars i was trading to get about, and run my own little toolbox as well instead. Knew what i liked, wanted a little go-kart to thrash about in. The Renault 5 and Uno i had weren't doing it for me and still wouldn't with 1.4 turbos, i'd done Fiestas and got sick of the quality of those too, so decided on putting a 2.0 8v in a Nova (this was in 2003).

Sat in an auction buying cars to sell and a red '88 Polo 1.3S rolled in, i'd never considered one and knew nothing about the short block engines in them, but i knew the build quality would be alright for such a little thing so i took it home anyway.

First thing to do was Google clubs etc and get some info and ideas. Having typed 'polo club' and found various sites regarding people playing croquet on horses, it offered clubpolo.

But i couldn't join, the site was down and not taking members. But it did advertise a show - poloshow '04.

So i went.. (my car E321EFO)

At first i just ran it about, made an exhaust for it and got to know it by changing the carb, head gasket and a few bits and peices. Regularly used it to go to Scotland. Then i went about finding a bigger engine for it and found i was kinda restricted to a 1.6 out of a 6n. Clubpolo was almost forgotten until i was on the net one evening on a chat site, thought i'd look it up and joined. I wanted to know how i could fit a carb, but nobody seemed to know. I got further ideas from another site and a couple of friends, and ended up bringing my ideas and findings here instead whenever i was on the web.

I'm still here, dishing it out, annoying the fuck out of everyone.

Corsa-c used to be busier than this back in the day.

We used to be busier than this a couple of years back!

Everyone forgot their passwords/hated their usernames and made new accounts thus multiplying the numbers...?

I personally joined because I was after an old polo and thought I'd sign up here to find out more about them and lurk on the 'for sale' section... but I'm fairly sure it's a cult thing, there will be head shaving and chanting soon, mark my words!

In all seriousness though I think it's because polo's are cars full of character whether you have one that was made in '75 or one that rolled out the factory a few weeks ago I think they are all very loveable (even though I have a love/hate relationship with some).

Also I think this is a really good forum; there's loads of helpful threads, many people are willing to answer questions, there's always something funny or interesting kicking around on the boards and there's some great builds up on here. I was sort of sceptical before I signed up here because I'd seen many people trashing this forum and what they weren't calling the people on it wasn't even funny (they also have the idea that you are all ancient old men? aha) but I have had no problems with it or anyone on it. Must just be jealousy at the member count ;D
