hi everyone wondering if you can help me, i have a 1.3 6n and most of the time it runs sweet but then sometimes it will just bog down in every gear then pick itself back up :/ its got brand new ht leads, so maybe dirty carb? or spark plugs? cause it feels like it miss fires then just fires back up again. whats your thoughts people?

coil on its way out, common on golfs, not so much on these, but nothing lasts forever... could be one of many things tho as "bogging down" is a loss of power.. so this could be fueling or ignition, wont be mechanical as its not a constant fault.

do you do lots of stop start driving or short ditances?

You say, "dirty carb", but as standard, the 6 N doesn't have one. If yours has been fitted with a carburettor, what sort is it?

It is worth checking the distributor cap/ rotor arm and maybe investing in a new set of plugs if these are getting on in years.

It might also be worth investing in a new petrol filter.

cheers guys and i do about 40 miles to work and back everyday and its single point injection i know it as a carb, its had a new dizzy cap and rotar arm also changed the coil pack not to long ago but was a cheap one so ill buy another one more expenaive and also a feul filter cheers guys
