no longer for sale

Featured Replies

Need to get rid of 1 of my 4 cars as the wife isn't best pleased! my g40 is staying, so that means I need to sell either my 9n tdi, my mx5 or my polo gt. So I have decided the only sensible thing to do is to put all three up for sale and see which one goes first.

I bought my mx5 just over 2 years ago to run over winter, with the plan being to tidy it up and sell on in the summer. That never happened and the car ended up being the main one I would use (i replace the driver side wing due to rust on the front edge where they always go). Me and the wife have since had our first child, so now my sensible head is saying that I should sell the mx5 as it does 35 mpg on average compared to the 50+ mpg of the polo tdi and only has two seats.

The car isn't a minter, but it is a good solid example with a good amount of history with it.

Mot is valid untill end of sept 13

no tax as I have sorned it

mileage is on the high side, approaching 157k, but it drives like a dream

bodywork is tidy for an mx5. the previous owner spent a fortune on getting the usual rot spots sorted (have a 3 page reciept of the work done)

car has been fully undersealed, so should be good for years to come

comes with a set of 15" gleneagles alloys with good kumho ecstas tyres

electric windows

hood is in good shape. rear screen is cloudy, doesn't leak

mountney steering wheel

sporty exhaust

oem lip spoiler

uprated headlight loom and lamps

otherwise std

will add some fresh pics at the weekend

I no longer have the hardtop, the wheels pictured could be included at the right price. The car will come with std cloth seats and not the red leathers currently in the car.

sills are solid, some light surface rust on passenger rear side, I clearly didn't stonechip it as well as I thought.

passenger side rear arch, had some light surface rust, which I sanded back and painted by hand. barely noticeable (i was planning to respray the rear quarter panels, hence the temp fix)

drivers side rear arch, a couple of bubbles have appeared. They are air bubbles, where the skim of filler has lifted. (the arches were welded up a few years ago, whilst under the previous ownership)

I did pop one of the bubbles, to find out what was underneath, hence the paint defect shown below)

None of the paint defects actually look that bad in real life. The paint polishes up well, and looks great when freshly waxed.

Hood has one small defect, which probably could be repaired
