Hello,

I have a 2001 Polo GTI, with the 6.5L washer bottle for the headlights.

The second section of the tank hidden in the wing is not filling up.

If I go in through the wheel arch and squeeze the bottle I bubble air into the top chamber and suck water in, so it looks like it is not blocked there.

It also looks like the top end of the second chamber is about as high as the filler cap, so I would assume it has to have some type of breather pipe to stop what I think is happening - an air lock.

Has anyone seen one of these off the car or can offer advise?

Thanks for the image, does anyone know if the little moulding straight above the fixing bolt is an air admittance / breather hose?
