Venice mate, I took the missus last year, It was cold like it was here in january but clear skies, loads of quality places to go. and no parents will take there kids there!!

Amsterdam for a long weekend or Greece/Turkey for a sun holiday

Playa Del Carmen in Mexico is awesome. 4 star all inclusive for about a grand.

Wherever you go book in online and go through Quidco.com they give you cash back. Saved £150 on my last holiday.

Best place I've been to is the south of France, its fairly hot, but not Egyptian temperatures, plenty of little villages etc in the mountains for yourself and then you've got Monaco, Cannes, Nice etc for rich, touristy visits every female loves.

Ill be going back for my 4th visit this year, stay in a place called Agay/St Raphael/Frejus. These are situated pretty much in the middle of Monaco and Saint Maxime, but not with the expensive price tag you'd expect with that sorta place.

Also if you drive down you get to "race" round the Monaco Grand Prix Circuit ;)

Parga on the coast of mainland Greece is awesome.

Loads of restaurants, bars and stuff to do, a castle to look at, nice beaches. Also because it's not massively known as a holiday destination by the brits, it's a bit cheaper. It's on this side of greece too so the flight is short and there's plenty of hotels and apartments around. The company we went with also did loads of good tours out, we did a walk up the River Acheron, supposedly the mythical River Styx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Acheron and visited the Necromantian : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necromanteion according to greek legend is the entrance to hell.

The wife and me rented a self catering apartment for our honeymoon and it was really cheap and had an awesome time. Everyone's friendly and the food is excellent.

!m!

I've always fancied going to Sweden or Finland but my dad and sister are convinced that holiday = warm and beaches and anything else is stupid. I went to Venice for a day while in Italy a few years ago and had the best ice cream I've ever had from a small shop in a back street but other than that it was too touristy, stalls selling cheap tat and restaurants everywhere.

Screw that logic, me and the missus went to Antalya in Turkey last year, this year we are determined to go to somewhere freezing, waking up in the morning at 8am and it being 45 degree's is just not right! :-(

But on a serious note Antalya is a very nice place to go lots to do, the locals were fantastic when we went, very generous and hospitable, just make sure you go in towards the winter months!

As mentioned Amsterdam and south of France (again towards winter) are both nice and just about right, there is interesting stuff to do, good places to go and visit, or you can lounge around depending on what you both feel like from day to day.

Whats your budget?

We have just been to Hawaii (Waikiki Beach) not too hot can hire cheap car and drive round the whole island in a day, great food, has a decent beach, decent shopping just a bit of everything really. Its a really long flight though.
