6n2 ach mod for clearance

Featured Replies

Okay so I got some new wheels. There 15" 7j with 165-50 tires and 25mm adapters running slight camber. I've had to higher the car loads to get them on and now I want it back down. I've rolled the arches are they are still catching. There was a support bar on the inside of the arch so I chopped/bent that out the way and there still isn't enough clearance... This is what I've done.. Yeahh it's messy but it can't be seen! :)

What's else can I do to get some more clearance? Would consider swapping my 25mm 4x100 to 5x130 (Porsche fitement) adapters to somthing thinner.

20mm adaptors might help? take the arch lining out aswell completely then roll the arches properly at a bodyshop for about £150

It's not the arches where it's craving though. There is a screw that holds the bumper to the arch and it's there that it's scraping.... That can't be rolled out as it has a surport! Which I bent/chopped out the way

I run BBS RS reps 15" 7j and i have no arch rubbing problems.. Get smaller adapters :)

edit: I also am running 195/45/15 tyres and it still doesnt rub (unless i have lots of weigh ie; 3 people, in the back) .. getting 165's next time :)

I run 15 8j et30 at the front with 195/45 and this rubbed like a Bi**h on that nut that holds the bumper... so much so that it dragged the bumper down. this is something I need to fix lol :( I'm definately running 175/50 this year to go a bit lower.

Who decided they'd put the nut there! I'm gonna try and figure a way to get around it tomorrow. Thinking about chopping the nut off and moving it or holding it together with a cable tie! I've just ordered a pair of 165/45 tires so well see how low it copes on them. If all else fails thinner adapters are in order!
