(another) and mk2f gt idle issue

Featured Replies

Hi all, have looking into the various problems people have with idle but mine seems slightly different!? It will be absolutely fine until I take a short journey – hot or cold at which point it will not hold idle at all, other than this it drives OK, you can feel the revs drop harshly between gears but it pulls fine. I assumed it must be the blue temp sensor so I've changed that, to no avail? I can't imagine it would be throttle body or the problem would be constant? Any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers.,

Jack

if your throttle body has been de-wedged that can sometimes give a rough idle

nah its a totally stock engine, it's not even rough to be honest, it just dies if i take a short journey then drive it again soon after; its like it forgets it's cold and should put some more fuel in or thinks its warm so doesn't?
