right I've sold my polo 6n or should i say swapped it. anyway i got nearly there n realised i had no green s;lip in the side door so i knew it must of fell out day before so i text the bloke n said i havnt got it he said it was ok i wrote him a full receipt out etc. so next day he got bit aggresive swearing at me sayin he cant tax it etc. so i payed for a logbook n recorded delivery to them i also sent the money for the taxto him as a gooodwill gester now he texts me this mormning sayin he angry n that but I've beeen as fair as i can be the polo isnt in my name so i cant ring dvla for the doc ref number.

the logbook/v5 doesn't prove ownership so make sure you have a copy of the sale receipt because if he uses your old car to commit crimes the police/fines will come to you and you will have to prove that you no longer own the car.

he will have to apply to the dvla for a new logbook, you cannot do it for him, it's his own fault for buying a car with no logbook and he will have to wait for the dvla to send him one there's not much you can do for him.

if he can't deal with you in a decent manner do not respond to his txts/calls as it's no longer your problem and you've been more than fair with him.

hopefully he doesn't 'hunt' you but he will have your address. my advice would be to save any messages you get off him and contact the police before anything happens, so it's already on the police record that he has threatened you. if anything happens he would be arrested for it, as the police most likely won't do anything without a previous report.
