Okay my mate wanrs me to put a 1.4 golf tb on his 1.0 aau polo just wondering

A) Is thos possible what gains do you get ?

B) what else is neede to run it adapting fuel lines etc

It will use more fuel. So will gain fuel stops . The Golf TB is pretty much a straight fit i think (heard of it done before), but having not done it myself i couldnt say for sure. It has a bigger butterfly, so will give you more air and fuel, so you will get better throttle response.

You don't need to change the fuel lines it is a straight swap. But you can change the manifold so it is better flowing.

I did this on my AAU when i first got it. I fitted a polo 1.3 tb.

I don't think it was worth doing but it is a popular thing to do.

It does make a difference i should think. The standard butterfly in the aau 1.0 spi tb is tiny. I'm sure VW deliberately restricted it so there was more difference betweeen it and the 1.3 spi aav. I am thinking of going with the 1.3 tb in conjunction with a GT cam.
