sh#t the bed wtf :? never seen that before

I like the front but the rear looks like it was designed by a completely different person

Interesting, looks like it'll be their entry into the hybrid market, as to how well it might sell remains to be seen :?

I actually quite like it!!!

I actually quite like it!!!

Really...or are you just saying that for effect

Reminds me of that old Chevrolet they leased out to people then destroyed almost all of them. Also fuck this VW, make the Bluesport already.

Really! I'd just cut back so the rear wheels are on show again

Edit: wheels are also pretty pimp

They haven't built a production car that light since the MK2F afaik.

Yeah i like that, i don't want one but i do think it's a refreshing step in the right direction even if it does only seat two people. Maybe with a Hyabusa engine in the back i could be swayed..

I'm unconvinced by the phone-box proportions of most city cars today, i know the idea is to be able to park more on a street, but here most parking is done in marked bays and the aerodynamic sacrifice of short-but-tall cars doesn't pay off.

I wanna see tiny and light cars, not 1.0 'city cars' that stand taller than a Granada Scorpio, weigh as much as a MK2 Golf, and can't even manage double the economy of a bubble car 50 years ago - Toyota Aygo for example.

That's the problem with ever tightening crash and emissions regulations though. If you want tiny and light, you could buy a quadracycle of some description as they're not so burdened with legislation, but then they are slow.

Anyone looking to sell a car (non-quadracycle) in volume has to homologate and thus pass crash regulations - which tends to mean cars getting ever heavier. Plus the people who actually buy new cars tend to expect automatic airconditioned electric everything, even on a shopping car - more weight. You could use fancy composites to get the weight down (like the XL1), but then it becomes a low-volume curiosity to be sold at a high price and/or loss.

Tata Nano probably fits the bill for being small and light (600kg), but I seriously doubt it'd pass European crash regs as it stands. Interestingly it's not been a massive success in India, as cars seem to be quite aspirational things and owning something small and cheap is highly undesirable.
