6n2 flip key how to guide

Featured Replies

Hi everyone so recently got my polo and want a flip key so ordered a 2button key for a golf polo on ebay paid £3 posted with a blank blade and no internals to make work with my car so first get your spair plastic key and open the end to reveal the imobliser chip and remove it carefully now open the new key and theres a small hole in the key flip part for you to put the chip into bush it rite in then flip the key out and use a small screw driver to push the pin out to alow the blade to be removed then take this to a local key cutters and there cut the blade dont forget to take the plastic key with you so it can be coppied then back home put the blade back in and replace the pin

Il get to the electrics inside another day as i have a scorpion alarm fitted and the internals are compleatly diffrent to this key but I'm sure il get it in somehow.

Anyone done this with a car with factory remote central locking?

My wifes has RCL but would be nice to have a flip key instead of the key it has at the moment.

Here's a good write up http://www.ibizaoc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=3665

That's a great guide.

I wonder if the 6n2 uses the same control unit? Or if not, maybe we can use one from an Ibiza or Cordoba? As I personally would love to have an original flip fob, instead of the flimsy rclick one.
