Can i ask a question? ... where is the line between CLEANING and DETAILING?

Is Detailing just another word for polishing? Or is there more to it then that?

Looks superb cleaner than a clean thing. For me detailing is cleaning the interior to the same level that you would clean the bodywork. I have a boxful of lotions & potions and can spend hours cleaning my cars.

I may be wrong but for me detailing is when I go beyond just wash I shit you not I was cleaning between the window gaps with as cocktail stick I am so ocd the interior is just as clean I used an air duster and paint brush to clean vents. etc I also peanut butter all the black trim and treated it. for the paint I wash with plain warm water then I clay bar the car washnit again with wash n wax then polish it.

me too dude but I want to get more expensive flashy stuff I really want to try snow foam next and a proper buffer and compound

You should apply the polish first then the wax. The polish is to 'clean' the paint then the wax is to seal in the work you've done.

got you in this instance the wax was in the shampoo I will need to do invest in some good polish any recommendations.

Personally I would say autoglym all the way great range, and there HD wax has amazing results speaking from using every second day doing mobile valeting, have also heard a lot of good stuff about chemical guys polish :) hope this helps

Auto glym SRP is a good polish as it's not too harsh but the new mer stuff is pretty decent as well and it can all be brought from halfords

The auto glym stuff just fills swirls etc, this is abrasive and so works towards actually removing them and correcting paintwork, though not too much cut. And the gloss is amazing. Even better if you have a da/rotary polisher.

Looks nice though; did you decide not to go for the baby blue for your steels in the end then?
