Ai amigos want to change the dash bulbs on mk2f pref blue leds, are they t4w bulbs? Are mk2golf/6n polos same as mine? Also thers a company on ebat that reckon 509t bulbs will fit by crimpin the bulb holder?? Has anyone on hear changed them to led's??

If you run normal led bulbs then it will be terrible, as the light is directional, I would recomend getting a blue led strip, cheap on eBay, then take the bulb holder out and stick it inside, then solder the wires to the contacts, this way it's going to give a good light spread.

Yea there be blodges of light everywher, well i know you got to remove the green strip in the cluster and replace it with a blue 1, like the stuff they used in old 3d glasses, wel i shouldnt have to solder it to the contacts jus run the wire to the light switch?? But only issue i have is that the dimmer switch wont work with the led strip it either be on/off?? Any ideas?

You can either use a blue filter, or just remove it. I made a diffuser out of a clear piece of plastic and sanded it.

If you use a filter then you can use the normal bulbs.

If you run it to the switch then it will still dim as it just raises the resistance. In fact I had to use an extra resistor in mine because when the switch was at max it was like a floodlight.

Hi bud blue filter paper? I've been looking into it and i think cellaphane sheet would work they use it to wrap gifts etc, if i used that i would prob still upgrade the bulbs to white led or get a strip as you suggested ada look on ebay ther peanuts, what you think?:)

Oh rite ok, well i could try puttin a few layers of cellaphane or get white led bulbs as ther lower watts and dnt of alot of heat last thing i want to do is av melted cloks lol, ill take a trip to maplin i think see if they got filter paper they use for discos etc

Hobbycraft sell sheets of coloured plastic, various thicknesses, its clear but to get it frosty you can either rub it with a scotchbright pad or stick clear textured film over it (Frosty texture diffuses the light, else even a standard bulb is partly directional).

Ai bro thanks for info ill pop over ther an see what they got, so u say rub it down a bit otherwise my dash be to bright? Last thing i want it to be is to much in my face:)
