Orange MK2 Bready c 1l

Featured Replies

hate to do this, but I gotta sell my polo - can't justify having 2!

Will probably put it on ebay, but I want to see what interest i get on here first.

This is the most recent picture I have on my laptop, the bare wing is of course now rust, also the alloys have been taken off.

The engine is broken - Suspected head gasket, but I have a friend who thinks it's a problem with the breather system. It does drive, but I imagine extended amounts of driving will bugger it further - If you don't live too far away from me, I could deliver it on my dad's trailer.

It's done around 140 000 miles I think (I'll check when i'm home)

It is modified, mainly cosmetic

It's had a respray, obviously. It was quite a cheap job, and if you inspect the body closely this shows, but the overall look is good. The near side front wing is bare metal, and the bonnet is matte black, I have a tin of left over paint and it may be enough to spray a wing and the bonnet, but I can't guarantee this. It was sprayed about 2 years ago, and there's some rust showing through - particularly bad on the back arches. (and of course on the bare wing..)

In the pictures it has some alloys on it - I've taken those off now, and put the original steels back on.

It's lowered on those "bad grip" springs and shocks off ebay - I thought they were actually surprisingly good (despite the name) and made the car grip the road much better. It was supposed to be a 40mm drop, but the back is dropped further than that I think.

I've taken the back seats out, and cut a sheet of MDF and some carpet to fill the back - there's shite loads of boot space.

The seats i've put in the front are some bigass retro bucket seats called "ASS" - they're german, my dad gave them to me. They didn't fit on the runners, so i had a fabricator make a support to go under the car which they bolt into (it is legal i swear). They're incredibly rare, I'm not sure how much they're worth, but people usually seem quite interested in them. Sadly though, two (or maybe more) generations of fat arses have taken their toll on them - the passenger side is okay, but the driver's seat has seen better days - the bottom has collapsed, so all the cushioning is just on the floor (i've added some more cushions as like a booster seat)

most other stuff is quite small i think - the general thing with it is that it's always been "driveable" - it does seem to soldier on with a little repair here and there, but when it's running it's a LOT of fun! (to be honest, more fun than the near immaculate 1.3 5 speed i now have) luxuries like ICE and rear screen wash disappeared from it long ago. but it does have a lot of character (that's the main selling point i think).

So, As per the rules I'm supposed to say a price, I really don't know what it's worth, so I'll say £600, but I know that's incredibly optimistic. Message me if you're interested, and we'll talk money :)

UPDATE - tax runs out end of April, MOT i think runs out in May

Last MOT was May 21st, advisories:

1 - Centre exhaust has minor leak

1- Windscreen has damage to an area less that 40mm circle outside zone 'A'

3 - Offside Front Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment

4 - Offside front tyre worn close to legal limit (that was on the alloy wheels, which i've now taken off)

£350 ONO
