Funny, I was just looking into these the other day. It was a factory fit engine for the last year or two. I want a rocker cover from one :) 1.1 would make it either a Formel E engine or a modified 1043cc?

They were 1043cc SPI's, I'm pretty sure they used a trabby gearbox via an adapter plate, because you can get them in an auto.

Starting price of £1,500 and they didn't get a bid - is it any wonder? I don't see the fascination with them, that is a proper heap of shit!

They're horrible cars though. I'd guess you'd need chassis bracing to stop it literally tearing itself apart.

My mate had one of those polo powered trabbys. His had the formel e engine. It was the worst car i've ever known. It cost £175 IIRC and had no hand brake, in fact none of the brakes really did alot, only one of the doors would open, the wipers didnt work properly and it looked like it had been made up of bits and rattle canned white. It did tear apart. Literally. Rear suspension ripped out of its mounts. It was destroyed, but the engine will live on in his polo bready formel e that blew up.
