Okay, so about 2 months ago I started looking into how to fit a amplifier the the standard head unit on the 6r polo. After many hours of searching I couldn't find a single thing! All the website just explained how to change the head unit! But as many people know a lot of the time if you change a head unit it will not optimise the power for the door card speakers, and with these cars pumping a nice sound as standard I didn't want to bother changing from the standard head unit. I didn't want to part from being able to use my Bluetooth and other things by pretty much down grading my head unit.(some people woll disagree with this but if you a little bit about rms you will understand using the head unit made for the job you will get the best sound out of your speakers) all an opinion of taste and price range. So being an electrical engineer I decided to try myself and tap into the cables. Being under warranty I didn't want to tap in the the cars original quadlock lead. So I searched all over the place to try and find a small extension of the 40 pin quadlock cable.

I then tapped a Halfords own high pass to low pass filter to the left and right rear door card speakers, this then have me my output to run my RCA cables from. I struggled to find a decent ignition switched to run the remote turn on from. So rather than having a remote turn on I bridged the power on my amps the the remote turn on terminal and connected a switch inline allowing me to turn them on and off when I please (making them days when you don't want to have to deal with stupid amounts of bass pumping in the car a much nicer drive) since then I have wired up two Amps and two subs into the boot of my car, giving me a nice clear bass line. If anyone else is in need of help with this situation. Don't be afraid to reply with questions I am willing to help as I didn't really have a lot of help myself! Lets all help to put the DUB in vdubs!

I am looking to do a boot build, I'm not sure how I want to do it yet. I originally wanted to use the spare wheel we'll but thought better of it for emergencies. So I am thinking of either bottoming out the subs with a tray above them to allow for some boot space, or to have a sub at either side of the boot facing inwards at a 45* angle each to centre the bass allowing the middle of the boot to be used for storage. If I have them at either side I will have the two amps in the middle hidden in a box with a hinged lid allowing for any further adjustments. If anyone has any ideas please reply as I am not sure yet of what I want to do!!!
