Breaking 1985 Saloon Formel E

Here's the car in question:

Interior

There are very few interior parts available as it has been stood some time with no rear window, so seats and carpet are out of the question. We do have some switches available, a pair of black leather effect door cards and most of the interior loom complete with the SSA control unit, switch and clocks. We may have other items in stock though.

Mechanical

Due to the car being stood some 14 years, there was little of note worth saving mechanically. The car was missing the engine and gearbox and the driver's front strut. If there is something you are after though, don't hesitate to contact me or Yeti, as we may have it in stock from other vehicles that have been broken.

Body

The car came to us with no headlights or rear lights (however, we have some rear lights in stock). The front bumper had a knock on the offside front corner, and the rear bumper is spoken for for one of our cars. Door and boot seals have also gone for cars in fleet.

Both doors are spoken for, as is the petrol flap. The bootlid is available with the spoiler, as is the bonnet and both front wings. We have quarter glass, door glass and windscreen available. We do have several other Mark2 bonnets available, along with other pieces of Mark2 glass and a pair of doors from other vehicles.

There is also a Derby front grille available. This is GRILLE ONLY, no headlamps or bonnet trim.

If there is something you're particularly after, again, contact us as we may have it in stock.

All parts are located Nottingham, though can be transported to Derby if it makes collection easier.

put my name on the door cards, i aint keen on the early coupe S cards on mine,

if both arch liners came off i'll have them too.

i'll be up there friday/saturday this week if you're around.

cheers

They both came off, but we weren't sure that you wanted them :?. We left them draped over the scuttle, so if you were about Sunday you could help yourself. The drawback to this plan was the car was going to be weighed in Sunday, so if you weren't about then, they'd have gone with the shell :-(.

Doorcards have now got your name on, and shall be cleaned up before sale.

Hi karl ill have the boot spoiler please and what is the gril on this car? Twin or single

Pm me please

Cheers Matt

@pascoe: You have PM.

@Bastard: It is just the doorcards. The quarter cards were beyond saving. If you want them, they're yours and we will talk payment at the farm .

i have rear cards and may be converting the car into

a panel van anyway so not really a problem, got Yeti's stuff to copy :)

Morning Karl- how much would you want for the front grille (is it single rectangular stlye headlamp style), n/s wing, bonnet and n/s/f indicator? Possibly need the bonnet catch as i has a n/s/f accident in my classic gl a couple of weeks back and i'm waiting on insurance to cat it.

Mark.

Hello,

The grille is for the square/rectangular type lamps found on early saloons. The chrome has worn off it, but the badge is in decent nick and its perfectly useable. 3 of the 4 clips are intact across the top, the other is still there, but only just! I'd be after £30 for the grille.

NSF wing was good and straight, but has some surface rust around the lip of the arch. If you were painting them, I wouldnt see it as a big issue to remove the rust, stick some Jenolite on it and paint it to your cars colour. It's certainly not terminal anyway. £15 for the wing.

Bonnet wise, is it black you're specifically after, as I may have someone interested in the black bonnet off this vehicle. I do have a Marine Blue and a Gambia Red bonnet available, however. All three are of the pre-'86 type that have the washer jets mounted infront of the vent grilles, rather than incorporated into them. £20 for a bonnet.

I have a catch in stock, with cable @ £10. Indicator I can do for £5.

If you were to buy all that lot, we can do you a deal for buying in bulk .

EDIT: Grille comes from this car:

I swapped it out for the one on the black one as that had the chrome present on it.

Well the car is diamond silver met so i will get those re-painted- sounds great Karl. If they don't condemn it i will be in touch. I may need other little bits but i will let you know asap. How badly damaged is the bumper with the chrome molding? If it's repairable i will be interested in it and you wouldn't happen to have a n/s headlamp washer jet off a GL by chance.

Cheers, Mark.

Unfortunately the bumper went for scrap with the car :-(. We looked at it, and debated putting it into stock, but we were being picky over its condition.

I don't have a washer jet off a Polo GL, but I do have one somewhere from an early 80's Audi Coupe. I would have to confirm with ETKA, but it might be the same part number shared with the Polo.

There's a small possibility I may be able to get panels painted in your cars colour (I work at a bodyshop), but it may work out more economical to have the panels painted at the same time as the car if you are having to have the front panel/inner wing repaired.

The shell has already gone to the crusher I'm afraid :-(.

Back-end was of no use anyway, as it was very rotten .

Ah okay I just need to find the piece.

Many thanks

Anthony should be about if you can pop around the corner,

i live the other side of Nottingham and its a complete ballache

getting to the workshop after work, over 1 hour, so i don't bother.

can Paypal again if you want some £ in your fund ?

I've done a bit of homework on this, and annoyingly, I can get an offisde one relatively inexpensively. A nearside is looking like £50 from classic parts. The Audi coupe one we have isn't a match.

The part number for what you're after is 867955101A. The part also seems to be linked to some sort of Audi, it's a stab in the dark, but I would suggest it's probably a B2 Audi 80.

I've had a few PM's of late asking a price on the Derby front end set-up. Please see the original post. It's the grille only. The picture posted of the Monaco Blue car is for illustration purposes only to show the grille that is available. The other items pictured are not available for sale at this time.

How much for the boot with spoiler?

Sold it with the lid the other night unfortunately.

Shame that got left to rot. Never seen a black MK2 loon before and Formel E's are rare anyway :-(

Yeah, it seemed to have been a vey nice car before the hedge took it. It was certainly an interestting spec.

Can't save em all though, and it was fooked :(
