Just recently went and bought myself a VW Polo 6R. Got the 3dr in numbus grey and absolutely in love with it!

Wanted to get Xenon lights on both the headlights and fog lights and was wondering what the best ones to go for are? Would also like to get the Guide me home feature on both the headlights and fog lights..

Would much appreciate if anyone could assistance me in this!

Get some projector headlamps if you can first, otherwise you'll blind the sh*t out of everyone. As for HIDs I got mine from HIDs4u, a lot more expensive that your usual eBay jobbies but the quality and brightness is unreal! Well worth the money,

Ps I had cheap eBay ones for 30 quid and they were terrible, don't be tempted by the price

haha yeah i was quite tempted on ebay but thought i'd rather pay a little bit more and get the better ones! is there anyway i can get guide me home lights on these aswell?

I had my xenons from xenons online, superb quality not like cheap eBay ones... Just pointing out the obvious invade you don't know, HID's are illegal if fitted without headlamp washers and auto adjusters.

Anyhoo, I imagine in your car there will be a setting that you as the driver can select for "see me home" lights and also "daytime running lights" but for headlights only not for fogs

I'm sure HID lights must be available as an option, so i'd just buy some lights from Volkswagen. I wouldnt put aftermarket crap into such a new car.

If your gonna fit HID's you need to have self leveling headlights and headlamp washers. more hassle than its worth really..

nothing winds me up more than people with hid fog lamps (defeats the objects of fog lights..) blinding me.

because fitting hids will trigger this system and may reduce or cut the voltage to the hid ballast causing them not to light or other low voltage problems also i'm sure the headlights act as drls (they did on the base spec 6r i hired) so may cause problems if they use lower voltage (or dimmer) than normal dip beam.

Just go for some Osram Nightbreaker's, loads better than that Xenon crap off of ebay and exenons UK lol.

Yeah good quality brighter bulbs would be the best option really

They do a wide range of HID kits with warning light cancellers

I'd steer clear of the petals or other "upgrade" bulbs, as they always seem to melt atthe base, i think it's something to do with the connector.

As its a new car, the headlights will no doubt be aligned properly, so I would just fit a hid kit to it, i think thèse use h7 for dipped beam, so I would use h7r. But check before hand that you have a seperate light or the drl because if it uses the dipped beam bulb then you will have to disable it via vagcom

Also, it's a big grey area regarding there legality, but at the end of the day if there aimed correctly, they won't blind anyone, and if they don't blind people they won't care. What I personally do, on the rare chance that I actually usethe dipped beams, is have them set to 3 on the leveling switch, and when I go onto an unlit road etc I just turn it to 0 again. This way their pointing at the floor when around town etc, but go back up to where they're needed when you turn the switch.
