I've got preety much everything lined up for bottom end rebuild .

Only thing gsf dont stock is big end shells ..

I've seen them on ebay but thats in lithuainininnnina lol .

Know anywhere that stocks them preety cheap.

Also conrod bolts, Where stocks these cheaper than vw ?

I've heard of people reusing them.. also ARP bolts did they make them for the gti ?

Avy big end bearings are same as Afh mate

I'm sure mine were off eBay about £40 so may have been the Lithuanian ones I got can't remember

I have found some ACL racing ones I may get though

Oh and G60 and 20vt are same size too just remembered

And for ARP bolts you need to search size bolt dimensions you need rather than car specific ones

More chance of you finding the ones you want but it's between £7 per bolt to maybe £45 for a set if your lucky

ahh it looks like GSF ordered mine in from FPS Car Parts.

I gave the the reg for a 1.6 16v AVY/ARC

The GSF code is SC705 which is Dummy Product and the other code is 01-4100 which is what I think is the external code for 4 Std Big End Bearings.

The ones what are bolt crank to block, Just making sure before i sound like a knob when asking to order them in haha

Just assumed that big end was called that due to them beeing bigger lmao :/

I think the main bearings were 32 quid for all 5. Will add the part number from my bill in the morning. :-)

I got you a quote for mains and thrust washers mate. So they're what hold the crank in, you need big ends which go between conrods and crank, VW do the bolts, they're a bit specific for bearing cap location so IMO unless you're sure ARP ones will be correct just get OEM. But you'd probably pay more for ARP anyway.

Rite so got mains, thrust part numbers and price from pete ages ago .

Thing about rod bolts is you really really really don't want one to fail..

All 6n/2 petrol engines share the same big end and main bearings, ensure they have the holes in for the oil way in the rods though.
