Eughhh . Egnine builds .

Why you so expensive lol

Loads of money arnt they, think I paid over 250 for all the rebuild stuff (excluding pistons and rings), 120 for the rebore and 130 for the stem seals and seat cuts for the head :(

Thats not even including the tools I had to buy to get the job done either

I'm looking to spend at least £1000 rebuilding mine, but that's including balancing and new oil pump etc

Yeah I think mines been around 1075 so far nick haha. Loadsa money but for a zero mile engine its worth it!

Infact probably more lol.

I hadn't done the calc yet, crying now....

Iv found not adding things up is the best policy mate

In the big ends its a round hole, crudely drilled. Just the earlier cars didn't have it, but VW only sell that type now so you get holes even for cars with solid rods.

Other suppliers may differ, so its something to check for.

Main bearings have oval holes, yeah.

Hey all I got piston rings, thrust washers, mains and big ends all KS make for £100 I thought this was reasonable what do you guys think ?

From where? Get me some please

that's basically the price I paid and I've put all the info on CP in various places of where I got al the bits and all the part numbers

Rings too?

yes and rings

rings cost me £45 or £50 delivered Kolbenschmidt OEM

thrust washers + mains £32 Kolbenschmidt OEM

big ends £24 Kolbenschmidt OEM

Edited by StinkyPete

My kobenshimt (what ever) rings were about £50 posted too, still got to buy my bearings but don't expect to be paying much more than Pete. Rebuild parts are cheap enough if you shop around, rebuild parts wise I should have under £400 in my engine using most oe quality parts and arp rod bolts
