Hi all thout i was going nuts last nite park tha polo my street slopes 1 side so reversed into space and heard air comin from right front end jus a quik pttssttt, and heard it again tonite when i turn the wheel bak n fore to park, could it be not enuf bead seal?? Or psi in tyre?

Anyone else had this issue? I'm runnin 145/70/13 on front 7j weller

Not sure bro tha garage put them on brushd a load of white shit on tha rim fitted them an off i went, will tha psi effect it? Do u know what psi i should be running with that tyre size?

If the brushed white stuff on it chances are that wasn't a sealer but a lube to help get the tyre on. I could be wrong of course but all the sealer we use are black

probably a stupid amount of lube left under the bead, then when your locking it it's breaking the seal.

take it back to where you got them fitted or to someone who has a clue what they're doing.

as for pressures, if you don't know what pressures your supposed to be running in tyres on your car then not even god can help you.

Well i know a few thats runnin this tyre size with no issues, even on this forum infact, no need to harsh guys, was askin for advice rite size tyre the psi is simple enuf to work out, stretched tyres totaly diff ball game, i wanted a nice stretch i got it, personal preference init we all different!

Myself and a mate are running 165 on an 8j, and 45psi all round! I kept mine at 60 for a while to help the tyre take the shape of the rim. I would say keep it around 45-50 psi mate. All but one of mine keep air, one loses pressure at the rate of about 3 psi over 4 days odd.

You should never need to run 50-60PSI. If you run to high a pressure the impact your tyre should take is transferred else where. That and you will wear out the tyre un-evenly. You shouldn't need to run anything more than the standard tyre pressure recommended for you car. Even if you have a stupid stretch shouldn't need much more. I had 165/50/15 on a 8" wheel and that only needed 32-34PSI to be kept sealed. The recommended tyre pressure for the car was around 30PSI.

it can depend on the wheel mate, i have 165/40/16 on my 8.5j schmidts and it holds okay at 45psi, but my mates cossies at 165/40/16 on an 8j is constantly leaking and has to keep a air compressor in his boot. fronts will always go down more as they take more stress. But as i said, I've heard cases where split rims hold better, dunno how true that is though. just try running a high psi for now, if its still leaking at a dangerous rate then go to your fitters.

Cheers for the info guys funkyjord/danny braggins u been a great help with no grief jus advice:) I'm runnin 8j on the rear with 165/55 and ther great look tha bomb 2 but guna tak you are advice and put more psi in2mor to let the tyre adapt, it they lose a little psi evry few weeks then so be it, joys of the stretch:) thanx again amigos :-D

It might just be worth going back to the tyre fitter and explaining what's going on and maybe get him to take them off and add some sealant, for the sake of a tenner or something it might save you a load of bother and might also allow you to run normal pressures?Just my 2p but I'm lazy like that.

Yeah if you run 80psi the sidewalls won't bend in as much.

Oh and don't go round a corner, may fall off
