how many lessons did it take til you passed??

Featured Replies

Just out of curiosity.

I've had 12 lessons now, and am taking another 10 in the next 3 weeks and then i plan to book my test and take a further 5 or 6.

so is about 30 gonna be ok to get me through my test? I find driving easy enough but I don't want to have to take 2 tests, I want to pass first time!

:-D

i had 12 hours lessons - but i already knew how to drive

^^ You already knew how to move a car.

Learning to drive comes after the test!

Learning to drive comes after the test!

that is completly true -- i have learnt more after driving for a year than any instructor could of taught me!

on the road experience is what makes you a better driver

you learn to handle the car and deal with situations without accidents after you pass, I'm talking about things which cannot be taught.

however parking for some > i wont mention what group of people - will never be mastered. (joking)

I had one hour a week for about 6 months, so about 25 lessons and passed first time. But as Del said, the real learning comes after the test, I was lucky to pass my test first time looking back.

I took 8 lessons and went for the test,

failed first time so took one more lesson and passed my test.

so 9 in total.

19ish i think :)

Lost count, couldn't be ass'd to take the test so each time I got to test standard I stopped

took me 24 but that was cos i kept forgetting to book my theory so my instructor kept giving me lessons until i booked and passed it :D then failed me actual test so passed second time, but you know what they say people who pass second time are better drivers :p

done 18 hours and then failed me first test!

then totally buggered my ankle and didnt drive for 4/5 months, then had 3 lessons then passed!!

so true, no matter how much u practice driving before passing or the amount of games u play, you are still shit, the only way to learn it to be on the road for a couple of years it goes in stages, about 2 weeks then 6months then a year then 2years then after that you pretty much stay quite the same, but obviously get better and better continuously. i have been driving just over a year and used to think i knew all and now i know I'm not a particularly skilled driver but i dont do many stupid risky things, best way to keep safe!

i took 15hours btw.

the amount fo times i hear this!! loada crap, I'm not having a go at you I'm just saying. if you were the best driver in the world you would fail your test first time...right makes sense then...

No Comment :paranoid: Acutally prob bout 70-80. And i failed 1st test coz i nearly caused a major pile up  yea right he wishes.

18 hours and I scraped through my test first time with 10 minors.

My advice is to not do what I did! I was nervous on my test and probably dangerous on the road when I first got in my polo because I had to drive it down from Blackburn on my own and I had never been on a motorway!

i had 7 hours of lessons! lol

6 lessons for me.

although i knew "how to move a car" before hand though ;)

bout 70-80.

holy mother!! really!!??

I had 17 hours worth of driving lessons. Passed forst time with 2 minors. I didn't even try to drive a car before that.

Lol actually i got my lessons free as my stepdad is a driving instructor, so i took as many as i could, and my first test fuck up was so not my fault the guy was a idiot, he made me nearly kill us.

The course was supposed to cost me 124 quid, but I did 3 and a half hours of lesson which was split into two lessons (make sense?) costing about 70.

First lesson was motorway work but I go on the motorway to college 4 days a week anyway so that was nothing new. We went to blackpool and back :s

Second lesson was an hour and a half and we went for a gander over the Moores for a bit of country lane work.
