Mk1 golf clipper cabriolet which I've owned for a few months. bought with the intention of fixing her up for the summer but i changed my mind.

bought the car off a friends mum to fix up. i have done the head gasket, cambelt, carb mount, leads, plugs, cap, rotor, fuel pump, fuel separator, ignition coil, new oil and all the filters.

car has recently passed its MOT and has 6 months tax.

good points;

tight roof with no tears

solid shell, no rust or rot

bodywork is very straight, odd minor dent.

new MOT

with a quick clean the interior is in very good condition

2 near new tyres and 2 ok

near new exhaust

brand new not fitted rokkor 40mm lowering springs

bad points;

cuts out randomly when driving, but will restart again and drive. (possible carb issue, crap in fuel tank or ignition amplifier)

front drivers side shock/damper needs replacing

handbrake cable has snapped

lacquer has pealed from the bonnet and boot but i have bought a new bonnet which was damaged when delivered (bent corner) but is spotless otherwise. (both bonnets in sale)

both the electric window and electric roof dont work. the windows have earth issues because they worked with a temporary earth.

I'm after £500 ono but i am after a quick sale so try me. swaps/px for mk3 coupe

the car does drive but i wouldnt recommend you drove it far. located in tunbridge wells kent.

a little bit of money and time and you'll have a fun summer car.

whoever buys this, before spending money on parts, check for rust in the fuel tank and fish it out with a magnet. The missus mk1 had this problem and runs sweet now.

was MOT'ed couple weeks back and the cable snapped since then and as for the shock i guess it just slipped past the tester.

Lol slipped past just like money does
