Description:

I have for sale, a friends Mk1 Golf GTI. He has owned it for years and used to drive it, however due to work commitments it sat unloved for some time in the back of my unit. The car was then sent to a welding company, who repaired the hole in the rear wheel well, the rear arches, drivers sill and a-post and various repairs on the inner wings.

The Engine is a DX 1.8 engine, which was running well when last moved, however when the welding was conducted, the fuel tank was dropped, this is included in the sale. The engine currently is very dusty but is all complete and as factory.

There is a sun-roof fitted - original sliding - but I believe this has been leaking (either that or the door cards do not have membranes fitted behind - or they are damaged) which has let water into the front floor pan. The car has been stored outside for the last 6 months but the last 5 years has been dry stored in various garages.

Has lowering springs fitted all round, and VW Snowflake alloys, GTI ARB front and Rear, Original Grey stripe GTI interior which has been stored indoors, leather i believe - steering wheel, all door cards etc.

It is also fitted with a clifford alarm I believe.

There is still some rust on the car, from what I have seen, there is surface rust under the passenger rear light, rust/rot on the front of the passenger sill (before the a post so should be an easy repair), surface rust on the battery tray. There also appears to be some rust where the breather pipes pass through on the rear arch - all pictured

I need to clean out the leaves and stuff around the scuttle panel so I can investigate that.

There is also surface rust underneath the car as seen in the pictures and there is damage to the drivers rear quarter, two quarters are supplied, one from a mk1 series 1 golf the other from a cabby so should provide metal for a suitable repair panel.

The car is silver, it was lhasa but was coated in some type of hammerite silver paint many many years ago when the car was stored to preserve the paintwork.

Pics can be viewed here - the latter album being pictures taken outside in the light

Please don't hesistate to ask questions, or come and view the car, but timewasters will be not be tolerated.

I would love to restore the car for myself, it would make the owner Lee very proud, however I just don't have the time currently as I am restoring 3 cars currently with a view to restoring my series 1 after and cannot take on the extra work

i have had a deposit on the car, however the car cannot be collected for around 4-6 weeks, so if the car can be collected asap, I will take 570 for it, and refund the gentleman who placed the deposit.

phone or text if interested 07950 675 910

Cheers
